That is one game I won't even let my kids know that I have. I'll have to play it late at night.

Looks good if a little OTT in its ultraviolence.

I'm sort of glad they've gone that way, if only because they could.

Reminds me a little of soldier of fortune 2

Hmm looks a lot more run and gun than the terrifying hallway creeping of Doom 3....

Not fussed so far.

I never enjoyed playing like that, I'm sure it'll let you be a bit more stealthy and pick things off if you want to, might involve a bit of back tracking but that always had a better atmosphere to me.

Hmmmm, what's going on with shooting the enemies? He seemed to be shooting them a lot and they weren't twitching / moving / losing blood. No hit markers. A few of them had a shield type thing flash up but a lot of the time nothing seemed to happen confused

Maybe I've been playing Destiny too long.

Looks like Brutal Doom with a Trple A budget. Not that there's anything wrong with that of course

It does seem much brighter - more Quake than Doom - but it looks a hoot. Definitely a "must have".

I'm interested in this.

RIght now, I'm probably more interested in this than Dark Souls 3. It looks like Doom is back, if it's fast paced, , gore, a shotgun, a double barrel shotgun, a chainsaw, a plasma rifle, my god damn fists and a BFG that shoots a big fking green laser at giant enemies then it's a day one purchase.

I reckon this could be brilliant in multiplayer as well.

Hopefully no auto-aim, no perks, no levelling up, no kill streaks, no load outs, just skill based player v player on great maps.

Did he really pronounce "id" as "idd"
all this time I thought it was I.D. frown

Well..nice eye candy and that.. but does it really move the genre on at all? Would have liked something innovative other than "dismember people and cut monsters in half with a chainsaw"
Just reminds me of a more violent Dead Space. Maybe I'm just getting old hehe

Yep, it is just a lowercase id, not Identity

To be fair to them, that was a lot of different and very gory ways of cutting people in half with a chainsaw.

This game looks terrible, I just checked and the Original Half-life was realised in 1998, it was supposed to have done away with crappy Doom clone gameplay like this.

This game is going to get panned and fail and rightly so.

What would you prefer, a highly linear corridor shooter with cut scene every 5 minutes ?

CoD has ruined FPS for an entire generation. Half Life still holds up today, Doom and Doom 2 are still incredible games with brilliant level design and actual gameplay. Especially on the higher difficulties.

I played the entire Doom / Doom 2 / Ultimate Doom collection not long ago, maybe a few months, absolutely nothing wrong with them, even now.

Now we need a modern day Quake and a new Unreal Tournament.

New UT is coming. Not sure who by, it might be a community thing, but UT (as in 1999 GOTY UT) is coming and I cannot wait to get hold of the ripsaw/flak cannon!

Its from a time when how well you did was down to how good you were with a mouse and keyboard. Not like today where levelling up and earning different weapons or even paying for different weapons/armour/skills with actual money, can give you the edge.

I actually installed UT a few months ago and had a little play. Its kinda like getting into an old car that has none of the modern safety and fripperies weighing it down, no power steering, no driver aids, manual box... its incredibly direct, like there is no lag between your mouse and what happens on the screen. Ultimate responsiveness. An absolute joy.

It's Doom, it's supposed to be violent! And yes, it looks amazing. Fast, fluid and with a focus on the shooting, hopefully that is what it will take the drag the FPS genre back from the brink of bloatedness where it now stands.

Glad to see the bedwetters are already complaining about it, that's when you know id have got it right!
