Anyone else underwhelmed by next gen?

Agreed, I don’t play my XB One much but fancied a game of Titanfall at the weekend – firstly it needed a 2GB system update, then Titanfall needed a 3GB update, then I had to download 2 map packs – 2GB each. Insane. Lucky I have BT Infinity.
The range of games will improve, we are still in the transition phase between generations. I think it’s taking longer than the previous generation due to the additional development time required for latest gen games. By next year I reckon we’ll see a lot more quality titles.
That was my thinking as there wasn't anything out now that made me want a new console. Also, the console prices are only going to fall. The range of games will improve, we are still in the transition phase between generations. I still haven't bought one - my console gaming stretches back to the NES, but this most recent lot haven't really captured my imagination - although these days I just don't have the time I had - maybe 2 hours a week.
Every new generation comes with games that are only marginally better than the end of the last one, it's a starting point and they improve from their but 18 months in and I haven't seen any real 'big bangers' yet.
I was going to get a PS4 just for GTA V, but in real terms, it's only a marginally better version of the PS3 version, so I bought a GPU for my PC, GTX750Ti for £100 or so, it's night and day better than my PS3 was, and I hate to say it but if I wanted to spend £250 to £300 on some new gaming kit, it would be tough to buy a PS4 over a GTX970 GPU.

Chalk me up for one more in the underwhelmed list. I know consoles usually have a slow start but we are what, 20 months into the PS4 now and still nothing that has made me really go wow.
Just re-hashes of old PS3 games and most of the triple A titles have been disappointing in one way or another. Sure you've got bigger maps etc and it's a bit smoother but graphics fidelity is nowhere near the jump up I was expecting whereas the difference between the PS2 and PS3 was night and day. Games don't seem to have the same depth either. I played some PS3 games for over a year, I think the most I've managed on any PS4 game is about 2 months.
It's not terrible as I've still used it but it's just a bit meh. I bought the console on day 1 but I could have easily waited 20 months, kept playing my PS3 and not missed out on much at all.
