Enjoyed this so far. Well into the missions in the 2nd region but things are starting to get a touch repetitive. Build up a base, retrieve scrap and building parts, move onto next area. repeat.
The open world environment is probably about as interesting as you can make a desert. The storm effects are superb and I don't appear to have experienced any sort of slow down (PS4).
The car handling and dynamics are pretty decent, similar to GTA V. Fun and workable once you've driven about in the car for a short while. As already mentioned the combat is similar to the Batman games with the onus on dodge, parry and attack. The shotgun is handy for thinning the crowd a bit as you can get overrun quite easily.
On balance it isn't up to the standards of Witcher 3 even though the games do have a lot in common. I just feel that more could have been done to make the missions a bit more interesting and beef up the dialogue a bit.

To be honest I'm finding it harder & harder to turn the Xbox on to play this again. Gameplay & story has gotten very repetitive. Came across a few unique bits that were quite interesting but unfortunately very short lived. Will try & get back on it for a bit on the weekend but not really impressed over all now.
30hrs in and I tend to agree.
Still having fun but it's getting a bit repetitive. Been doing Jeet and Gutash areas and already have Max's skills er maxed. So doing the other areas is losing its appeal.
Once you have the clean up crew and the off line collectors running you have plenty of scrap.
They have done well making the environment as interesting as possible for a desert/dried up seabed and the bases have lots of different looks.
Had some brilliant battles with convoys, probably my favorite part of the game.

Just over 30 hours in first two locations are maxed our with everthing done 100%. I am enjoying the game but as others said it does get a little repetative after a while. Reminds me a lot of a re skinned Shadows of Mordor (Guess same engine etc). Nice tie ins to the Mad Max universe and good little bits of back ground story that you don't really get from just the films.
I'm having fun with this but like others here I'm noticing it is becoming quite repetitive now that I'm moving into the third area, but it hasn't diminished the enjoyment yet though.
I've found though that its not really worth your time or effort going out and scavenging all the loot spots, as the scrap you get from them is tiny. The best way to accumulate scrap I've found is to upgrade the strongholds; firstly with the Cleanup Crew project which means every car you destroy has the scrap automatically collected, so no more having to get out and pick it up by hand. The Scrap Crew project will give you a bunch of scrap every time you start the game (it builds up when you're not playing, but an internet connection is required for this) and finally when you take over camps they give you scrap periodically anyway, so you needn't waste your time going to all the loot points unless you want to get them off the map. (A little feature that took me a while to find was if you go up to the 'ghost' image of the projects in a stronghold and activate them it will display on the map where the project parts are, meaning you can go directly out and get them instead of hunting them down)
As someone has already pointed out the V6 you start out with sounds an awful lot like a V8, but I don't know if the sound will change once I get the actual V8 in it later on though. (As a side note, I'm certain that in every stronghold's garage section you see Chumbucket tinkering with a V8 on an engine hoist, why doesn't he fit that to Max's car? Or pull one out of an enemy's car?)
No big rigs spotted yet though, it always seemed to me that truck chases / battles were a feature of the films so I'm surprised they don't appear to be in the game - who's to bet they'll appear in a DLC soon?

TBF The price on CD Keys is great, best £12 I ever spent, thats what a 2 hour film ticket. So far I have had 15 films worth of enjoyment Plus a lot of the games on CD Keys start off real cheap anyway, Batman was £14 before it even came out. One thing tho....wasn't Max's Interceptor supposed to be the last of the V8's?
Last of the v8 Interceptors I believe. Which I think refers to a specific type of police car.
Ah - The Pursuit Special https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pursuit_Special

I agree on the price, at the £13 I paid for it from CDKeys I'm not going to complain as its a solid game that is getting predominantly good reviews; if I'd paid full price then perhaps I'd be a bit more annoyed at the repetitiveness of it.
As for the "Last of the V8's", that refers to the Interceptor car itself IIRC, rather than the last V8 engine.

A bit O/T, but having re-watched all the Mad Max films earlier in the year, the first one struck me as being a little odd how Max doesn't get the Interceptor earlier in the film.
It transpires that Max has had enough of the MFP and is going to quit, but as a way to bribe him into staying on the force his seniors approve the construction of the "Last V8 Interceptor" to give to Max to use, something which him and his mates gleefully accept around the middle of the film. Max then carries on work as usual, using the Ford Falcons as he always did until it all goes wrong at the end and he takes off in the Interceptor.
I'm guessing the car is being used more as a metaphor for something in Max's life, rather than a tool to be used in his job, hence it being ignored in the film until he 'goes rogue'.
EDIT: Having read the article linked above it mentions there that Max turns the offer to stay in the police down - that's not how I understood it from seeing the film. Oh well!
