Forza 4 - Xbox 360 Question

Hi all.

I'm enjoying my wealth of used games (as advised on here) and my cheap Xbox 360 but I do have a question about Forza 4

Great game, lots of fun, tons of cars and track, handles well.

But... I don't play online so my options are:

Career mode where I can gradually play different tracks and enjoy different cars as I progress or...

Quick play mode (or whatever it's called) where I can choose any car and any track straight away.

Am I missing something because there seems to be little reward to career mode if everything is available to me right from the start. I do like career mode but I can't help thinking "What's the point?"
