Thanks very much for that, I will give it a bash with the option off so I can continue using my FLB. I have just got enough to buy a garage somewhere in Arizona but haven't got the money to add any trucks/drivers as I've been selling all my driver-389's and giving them 579's which cost so much frown

All but one of my ETS2 ones are updated also but fortunately I'm using my two DAF's which have both been updated to support the coupling smile

1hr to go till hometime!!!

I have an issue where this game doesn't recognize the pedals of my T150 - Maybe it will work now!

Good luck, I'm saving for a G29 (mainly for dirt rally, but it should work on these two aswell) and shifter. Maybe getting ahead of myself but do you guys use an H-shifter? e.g. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Logitech-Driving-Shifter-...
and how does that work with an 18sp Peterbilt?

Got my pedals working and wheel set up nice. Rotation is close to what's on screen. Using sequential gears. First attempt at parking. This was done from 1st person inside the cab! smile

Nice work, think I may need to find some money down the back of the sofa!

I got v1.3 working and did a couple of deliveries with my ever faithful 389, made it to the Grand Canyon!

ats_02842 by Tom P, on Flickr

I also found a couple of updates to my links on the previous page;

Abasstreppas' flare pack seems to anger the secondary lights in ATS, which is a shame because it's the real slim shady of flare packs, nothing else remotely comes close this is now working with all lights functioning
(here's the link to that flare pack http://forum.scssoft.com/viewtopic.php?f=34&t=... )

As a substitute I have started using this one, it doesn't do red lights very well but it's the best from what is available elsewhere: http://forum.scssoft.com/viewtopic.php?f=202&t...

I've also added this pack to the "environment" section of my mods, and I've deleted the downloaded petrol station file I had and subscribed to another

ATS real logo pack: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/...
ATS real petrol pack: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/...

Edit: removed out of date traffic & trailer mod list and updated my list on page 4

happy trucking everyone smile

Great parking there, I'm usually parked wonky but enough for the game to go "close enough" laugh Good luck with your HGV test, let us know how you get on. If you make millions be sure to buy a replica of your ETS2 truck wink

I've not been playing ATS that much, been busy getting the last few achievements in ETS2.

I did have a go on ATS tonight with the lowdeck trailer mod, but I've removed it as it messes the economy and your available trailers up too much. Basically it would overwrite most other trailers and put the value of the load up so much that regular trailers would be at the bottom of the economy scale, e.g. there was a run from Elko --> Kingman with a light load (13t's) for $93K!!
Despite that I did do two loads, the 2nd one because the trailer might as well be called "lowdeck trailer that makes the 389 Lowcabs look fricking awesome" biggrin

So I've been playing ATS/ETS with my Oculus Rift for the last few days and the immersion level is astounding. I'm actually sitting in the truck and completely in the ATS world as I drive around and I feel completely engrossed in this world.
However, there is SDE which is hard to ignore and I have felt queasy when driving into certain bends at speed but have learnt to focus on the mirrors for a few seconds, instead of the view forwards when taking bends. Although VR support is still in beta hopefully SCS can improve it in the future.

So this is on sale at the moment in the steam summer sale at £11.99, which I'm sure is more than worth it, but, few questions.

What's the map/scale like compared to ETS2? I always found cities and the roads linking them to be too small and plain in ETS2, the cities just felt like a couple of buildings in a very small area.

Is it graphically much better? Some of the textures in ETS2, mainly the backgrounds etc looked a bit terrible, screenshots of ATS look quite a bit better, is it?

They recently announced that they are scaling up the map after complaints it was too small. I can't remember the ratio, but it's basically the same scale (not size, scale) of ETS2

Personally I'm ok with the size of the map but if it's going to increase in scale that's even better.

Graphics: internal cab graphics are very similar to ETS2, external is maybe a bit less but hardly noticeable. At most company locations there are people moving around and doing stuff which is a nice touch.

At companies, when you are doing a drop off, you get three options, unload as is = no extra XP. An 'easy' unload location is either 15 or 40 do, a 'harder' location which is 90 XP I think.

Turn right on red: don't forget this rule on America, as it sounds, at a set of red lights, you can turn right as long as your indicator (blinker) is on and don't cut anyone up.

The rest of the game is pretty much same as ETS2, the in game menu works in the same way.

Think I've covered everything. smile

Would recommend you get the ATS real logo project mod as it helps feel more real when you're delivering to places you've actually heard of. I did get 100% of the map on ATS quite quickly compared to ETS2. Personally if I could only play one from now on it would be ATS as it's just that little bit more polished imo, it's also x64 rather than both 64 & 32 so SCS have more options to improve the graphics in the future.

I did my own skin for my FLB, I'm quite proud of it but that possibly because I've never used photoshop before. All in it did take something like 7hrs, 3 to get the front & the logo's done then 4hrs to get the sides lined up with the front! The only way to check it is to export the skin, put it into your mod folder, then load it up in game and take pictures to adjust from which is such a faff frown

Anyway, here is the original inspiration

Then here's my version, I've added a ton of logo's to with 'RB Transport' the name of my in-game company. I downloaded some free retro looking font's & logo's I edited in photoshop for the design, just changed the text to suit my needs;

Done two more skins for my trucks the 2nd is the Peterbilt 389, it's pretty good but needs to be made metallic and that looks unbelievably complicated. Again I base my design on a picture I've found the adapt it to my 'company' and add details

Further punishment fun with photoshop
I finished my K200 skin which is nice, I am not sure if I need to change it though as it's a retro skin on a new looking truck but I do like the look:

There has been some issues with the Peterbilt 389 due to the original modder stopping development. He unfortunately pulled the truck from Steam for a few hours until everyone convinced him just to keep it up and let people play it until SCS do another update.
I did another skin for it and this is by far my favourite;

Here's the original

and my first version

But again the lack of metallic was hurting it, so I finally figured it out with the help of another skinner

I also updated my first 389 skin to metallic which does improve it massively

http://blog.scssoft.com/2016/07/adjustable-steerin...

New update. We're getting wheel movement, something guaranteed to break all truck mods... Hopeless! Going to have a 1.3 profile for alot longer haha.
On the plus side apparently new states are going to take a long time to be introduced so hopefully can continue to drive my current selection for a good while yet.
