The steering wheel update is pretty much a non-event tbh. Wish they'd give us some decent tweaks and updates, which would have an effect on gameplay. I'd love to see a real hardcore mode, where there's no in-game help. So no white boxes for reversing etc, all trailers should have trailer numbers. So you arrive at the gate, the security guard tells you that your trailer number is TL475 and is on bay 3 but it's still being loaded, which will put your delivery time under pressure, instead of every trailer being ready to roll every single time. In real life....they're not! smile

With ATS being done on 64bit could that be achieved? Also if drop off were to be the same as pickup most of the area's would have to be redesigned, can't imagine the 7-eleven tight little delivery area's holding more than two trailers...

SCS has released their 389 for free today: http://blog.scssoft.com/2016/11/peterbilt-389-rele...

I probably won't be converting my skins unless the new template is easy to convert with, but I will be putting more of my skins on my steam workshop page, this will include the Viper 389/RTA K200/K108/WS4800 and probably a couple of my FLB ones. I may do a couple of my ETS2 ones but generally these aren't as good as my ATS ones.

Watched Squirrel last night playing the 1.5 beta Rescale and it looks really good. Trips really do take quite some time to complete and gives the feeling of Stateside driving with long roads that go on forever. A couple of negatives from my POV, it has reset the map to 0% driven and this 1.5 beta doesn't work with my Occulus. shoot

I've not had a look at it yet as I'm just going to wait for it to be released before playing but everyone who's played it says it's awesome. It's a bummer about the 100% however it will give everyone something to do while the next state is being built smile

ps. have reduced the size of my pictures, realised how mental it was with the size I was putting redface

Great value, as above the rescale should make the game feel much bigger! mp3manager, have you got your rift to work with 1.5 yet?

I've found out that 1.5 might break my FLB which is a shame as it's my favourite cabover out there, to that end I've downloaded blender along with the conversion tools so I'm going to have a go at updating it myself smile

Also I've put a bunch of paintjobs up on my steam workshop page (I used them, took off my company name and put the real ones on before putting them up on the workshop), they are for the Argosy, FLB, Peterbilt 389 (Viper's version) and the RTA K200/108/WS4800. Link can be found in my scs forum thread http://forum.scssoft.com/viewtopic.php?f=193&t...

No not yet. Usually after a release comes out of beta, about a week or so later Oculus support is added.

If anybody's wondering how to enable Oculus support, choose it from the dropdown menu in the Beta tab, click General tab then Set Launch Options, type in -oculus and while you're there -nointro to skip the intro loading screens for quicker loading

Anyone come back to play recently to try the rescale?

Just loaded it up and I only have one profile which is reset to 0 (everything not just map %, I knew about that).

I had two profiles, one for Truckers MP previously. All mods have also disappeared, I really can't be bothered to get everything working again frown

edit: interestingly, my mods folder has not changed. Did they make previous version mods not usable? I don't have any map mods.

Same thing has happened to ETS2, no profile whatsover there frown

I love the game but I have no intention to start all over again, is there any way to recover this? All looks normal in the game folders. I last played a few months ago.

I have backups from 1st Oct failing anything, I bet the problem will exists before that though...

No they haven't changed the mod folder and mine has worked throughout the last two updates. Only thing I can think of is verifying the game data, sounds like some default data file is missing, then you'll have to update the mods to the current version (steam workshop should help you, I know the Volvo you had was on there). Might be fun to start again though, they have the ScS 389 which doesn't kill peoples computer like Viper's HD one can.

Is this basically the same game engine as ETS2 but set in the USA or are there improvements?

Yes it's the same game engine, Prism I think it's called and is still DX9 based, although DX11 support is coming.
If you're familiar with ETS2, then you'll feel right at home in ATS.

Was possibly going to give it a miss, but after watching a few youtube videos of the sound mods I bought it to try over the weekend. The Cummins N14 makes a rather lovely (if a bit industrial/agricultrual) noise cloud9paperbag

Started with the 1.5 beta/re-scaled maps which seems fairly big despite being only States at the mo. Just hope the DLCs with the other states aren't too expensive...

I don't remember the EST2 packs were that expensive on release so here is hoping, I guess it would depend on how big they make them.

Oh I watched Squirrel's review on the rescale, it's gone from 1:35 - 1:20 which is what ETS2 is running as. They have also remodelled a load of it too.

Had a go with the SCS 389 last night and don't rate it against Viper's one, however the optimization for it in-game is good smile

Is there a way to use the H-shifter/clutch/splitter etc. with just a keyboard?

Also has anyone found the race circuit yet? hehe

Just got my Oculus Touch controllers this morning and they're fantastic. nerd
I'd love to see Touch support in ATS/ETS, seeing 'your hands' in game and being able to manipulate controls and switches would be really cool, just like OMSI and TrainSim allows the player to flip switches and press buttons.

Mark - yup found the race track, fell over in my FLB cabover. It was much better in my Viper 389, I even tried the lowered chassis for improved... handling?!? laugh which was funny.

mp3 - that would be very very cool, I seem to remember there was a mod in ets2 which added your arms to the game?

rescale is out, as previously stated the scale is now the same as ETS2 and is now 1:20 rather than 1:35 that it was before.
