This game is great, every level has so much replayability, some of the community created contracts are great too!

Anyone done the Elusive Target? I didn't get on for the last one, this one was easy. Clock tower, Jaeger 7 Lancer, headshot. Boom. Out in a few minutes. Enjoyed that!

I tried up and close, and it all went pants, ended up having to murder my way out the mansion and only got the 1 star for it. xD

Really enjoying this, have been methodically working through each level before buying the next (though I had to buy Italy on Friday so I could take out that elusive target). Was playing this morning, going for the sniper assassin challenge at Sapienza. Could line up Francesca easily enough, but Silvio was simply ambling around at the back as per usual. Thinking back to the lunchtime poisoning, I could see the dinner bell through the scope, shot at that and within a minute he was sitting down waiting for a lunch that was never going to arrive. Very cool little detail and I love how they've crammed it with little touches like this.

Not much talk of Hitman on the games forum but that's to be expected I suppose. I didn't actually realise it had been released till a few weeks ago and just got it this week (full pack so I'll get the updates as they come out although I think I've got 5 of the 7 episodes downloaded anyway).

Really enjoying it so far. They've added a lot of depth to the missions and the agency drop-offs are a nice touch. I particularly like that you can literally 'choose your poison' when preparing drinks (and food) for targets. It's still a very familiar game but I think they've done enough to make it feel next-gen.

I paid for Hitman (I've played every other release of it over the years) when it came out, but put it on the back-burner due to other games, work, etc.

Just started to play now, and I'm having real trouble gelling with this version (and had a bit of the same thing with the last release, too). I prefer playing a game with a story to pull me through; the sheer number of targets, accomplishments, replay replay replay in this system just turns me off completely; I can't see why I'm going after a specific tech/security guard/whatever and so it just feels pointless, artificial and I just can't be bothered.

I'll probably play the main episodes through (once) and then put away forever...

Anyone else feel like this, or is it just me?

They've mostly felt like this to me apart from the first game and Silent Assassin. I suppose it's quite hard to pull a story together in this genre especially when you're dealing with very distinct levels in hugely disparate locations rather than a flowing world. Even Absolution wasn't a hugely engaging story despite the effort the team clearly put into it. It's one of those games where you don't have to play it for the story though.

I quite enjoying replaying levels, different targets etc. The more you do, the better you get and the better upgrades and weapons you get.

I've enjoyed it more than absolution.

Ack!

I've tried the "escalation" levels... "do this".
Then "do this" (again) and "do that".
Then "do this" (again again) and "do that" (again) and "do t'other".

I want to like this game, but it really doesn't suit the time and inclination I have available these days.

Shadow Warrior 2 downloading now, latest Deus Ex will be after that, then Dragon Age 2 and maybe Inquisition.

But I'll leave Hitman installed and at least work through the story when I've got decent chunks of uninterrupted time available.

Just thought I'd bump this up as it's now half price, and I think perhaps priced more in line with what people may get out of it.

Some have argued that the episodic nature actually helped the game because it forced you to really focus on each area and replay it to get the most out of it.

However now it's £20 (on PC at least) then you can probably justify as much or as little time as you have to put in to it.

So far I've played through the training missions and am currently half way through playing around in Paris (half way as in one target down, one to go)

I've turned off all of the HUD and the magic see through walls vision etc. which makes it much harder but ultimately more rewarding I think, and also makes it much slower paced, as you need to work things out for yourself more. I have left on the 'suspicion' indicator though, and the little blob that floats above the people who can see through your disguise.

At this stage how you're supposed to do the Paris mission only wearing your suit baffles me, but it is possible and once I've played through the level a few times and know it well, I think it'll be something fun to aim for.

For me this was always the hook with Hitman games, the desire to do it in the 'coolest' way possible, walking around in a suit, leaving no trace at all and strolling off into the sunset with nobody having any idea.

Bought the Epilogue on sale, played twenty minutes and went straight back to the store to download the remaining episodes.

It's very addictive and I can't help but retry it to see if there is a better or smoother way to complete the tasks. World of Tomorrow is just so good, that I haven't actually gotten any further in the game due to playing this!

I do find myself heavily relying on the HUD / checking for the brighter dots so my cover isn't blown, to the point where I don't fully taken in my surroundings as much as should, that's the only downside for me however and its more of a human fault than game.

Played Sapienza elusive target I think, where you must off the guy on a park bench with an accidental death, took forever to find a wrench biggrin

Just started playing this in the past week; I was put off by the episodic release however have seen a few let's plays (outside Xbox cracks me up) of a few random elusive targets, so bought the steel case version last weekend.

So I've had the game for 1 week, and what have I done? I've played the Sapienza level maybe a dozen times! Maxed out normal difficulty then 2x stabs at the professional level; I honestly never thought the replay-value would be this high, but by adding dozens and dozens of challenges per level (something I usually detest) you really are compelled to replay the level until you find that satisfying method of execution. The gameplay mechanic seems to be a lot more fluid compared to Absolution, it looks gorgeous (love the VTs they use to introduce the objectives at the start of each mission) and it has that dark humour running through it that it has always had. Looking forward to playing the rest.

OT but I ended up watching this David Bateson (Agent 47's voice actor) interview last night and it was really pleasing to see how much he is invested in the character.

Anyone still playing this? Just bought the GOTY upgrade after I 100%'d the main game a few months ago. Some nice tweaks to the graphics (in-game at least, not keen on the new menu UI) which really make it look stunning in 4K HDR. Season 2 apparently around 1 year away.

Since that post I've played SW2, the Dragon Ages (inquistion took a loooong time); a fair chunk through SW:KOTOR and currently distracted by Crossout most days... never went back to Hitman frown
