Is anyone else mildly excited for the new DOOM released in May? I've been invited to beta test but I won't be able to take part unfortunately. I've got my pre-order in though.

Thanks for the reminder. I was promised a beta code when I pre-ordered the New Order but I'd not had any emails.
As a tip you need to enter the code you got with the game into the New Order website on the Doom beta page. You'll then get an email.
I eventually found mine in my account at the vendor I purchased the key from.

I have a beta place but you have to validate wit the code from wolfenstien, as if I still have it after all this time, ridiculous.

Just found a beta code for this in my Wolfenstein: The New Order box, but as the beta is multiplayer only I'll give this one a miss - quite interested to see how the single player campaign turns out though as I have many memories from the early days of this franchise smile

Wow, pretty hefty system requirements.

Very much looking forward to this, played the original but Doom 3 was the big one for me- absolutely loved the single player campaign in that.

All the game play I've seen of the new one looks very promising.

I bought Wolfenstein on Steam, so how do I get the code?

You had to pre-order the new order. If you did you should have a code either in the box for physical or online somewhere.

No box - Steam! I did pre-order, so I'll have to look in my Steam account or my emails.

I've just looked into this and this is what I have found:

To get the Doom Beta thing you needed to have ordered Wolfenstein:The New Order before the 26th of May 2014 (which I did on Steam).

But all you get is to play the multiplayer version from 31st March to 3rd of April.

It should appear in your Steam account as far as I can tell.

Wow, the Multiplayer version for 4 days for free !! The expression Whoopy-fking-Do springs to mind.

I'm sort of braced for disappointment.

It's only right that a DOOM/QUAKE game release are the time we upgrade our PC's. It's traditional.

I've been following this one but not 100% sure I'd be up for a £45 purchase (or thereabouts - PS4). It looks great fun.

I miss Blockbuster Video. Could've rented the game for 48 hours and made my mind up!

As with all Doom variants the fun will be playing Co op on a high difficulty setting. There are always lots of strategic options for 2 players in Doom games.
