Does this make anyone a bit motion sick?
Not me, but a friend who suffers motion sickness said the videos started amking him feel sick. He asked me if the game had a Field Of View (FOV) slider. He said that most console compatible FPS games default to 90 degrees FOV, and that makes him motion sick. It's not so bad on a TV, but being up close on a monitor makes it worse. Luckily Doom does have a FOV slider, so just set that wider and you should be ok. superb game. Interested to see what comes out of snap map. It's already mentioned, I'm up to the Cyber Demon on ultraviolent. Died 5 times last night before giving up for the evening.
What a throw back of a game. Every time I saw a new monster introduced that was out of the classic it put a smile on my face... for a fraction of a second before frantically running in the opposite direction.
The bloody Gauss Cannon. THE KICK BACK. I noticed the recoil as when I shot some skulls mid air and found the platform I was aiming for was replaced by oblivion. Awesome gun. all the guns are ace. I find my self cycling through weapons rather than using one "favoured" weapon. You feel like a bad ass exploding a hell nights head with the Gauss then spinning round whipping the supper shotty out and instagibbing a couple of charging imps.
Would recommend. Preference would be a PC frame rate is solid and it looks great (I don't have it on ultra on my 980ti). Haven't tried it on steam link yet as I'm used to mouse and keys for FPS. I might do some snapmap missions on the couch with the xb1 controllers and see how the auto aim is.

If you're on PC I would recommend turning motion blur off. Motion blur screws me right up. Was fine after doing that.
Yes, PC. I always turn off motion blur, totally pointless setting.
Increasing the FOV to 110 solved the problem for me.
Great game though, how do you all deal with the shield dudes? They are the only ones giving me trouble.
Not got the Gauss yet.
I use the shotgun explosive shell and a nade if possible. They usually pop up during the cooldown though which means running away like a pussy.
I didn't realise until after I'd left one of those upgrade robots not taking the upgrade that I could switch between mods on the guns and that it's not an either of situation.

I didn't pre order. I waited for GiantBombs quicklook and the general feeling then bought the game. I played the beta. The multiplayer is toss.you can dismount now.
You can dismount from your bicycle now since you are intent on back-pedaling so fast.

You asked why people were "pre-ordering this crap" and now you say it's "superb"

I was talking of pre-ordering. Pre-ordering is garbage. buying a game without knowing anything about it is your choice. I don't understand it. I played the beta and based on that I wasn't worth the money. My mind was changed by the reviews and shown gameplay by trusted critics. People change there minds based on the information presented. It's a bloody good game. clearly this is not back peddling, you seem to be an argumentative person picking a fight where there isn't one.You can dismount from your bicycle now since you are intent on back-pedaling so fast.
Fired up Doom3 on my original Xbox last night as I never got around to completing that the first time around. Yeah OK the GFX are dated but it still plays really well, the panicked bursts of radio chat/audible carnage still really set you on edge when playing through headphones!
Looking forward to picking the new game up this weekend with any luck

i downloaded classic doom on my iPad after playing the beta. It's not quite as awesome as i remember it on my PS1.
Controls might be a thing, i booted up original Doom on my GBA Micro yesterday, trying to have any sort of control on a teeny tiny D-pad doesnt work quite that wellGassing Station | Video Games | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
