Final boss was a bit annoying since it felt like I was being hit no matter what. Going back through for the collectables now, and have just discovered how epic the siege mode of the gauss rifle is. Standing still for even a few seconds is a big risk, but the reward is obliterating everything in front of you.
Biggest compliment I can give is that it feels like the exact game they would have made in 1993 had the technology been there. If I had to sum up this game in three words it would be metal as fk

Only got on for about 30-45 minutes but holy crap it's great fun. The music is such a throwback and found an old map section too.
It's so fast paced and feels like a good mix between classic Doom & Doom 3. I hope the later maps get slightly less linear but wont complain if they don't!
The music! Love it.

I had to change the FOV from 90 to 100 as I felt like I could not see much (i.e. everything was a bit too close). That's the first game I've ever changed it from the default. I tried it a higher setting and it looked a bit distorted, like my view was curved (if that makes sense).
Bloody good mind you - best game I've played since Wolfenstein:The New Order and The Old Blood.
Original blood was brilliant. I even upgraded my computer from 4mb to 8mb and to a DX4-100 just to play it more smoothly.Bloody good mind you - best game I've played since Wolfenstein:The New Order and The Old Blood.

...The only other bummer was that none of the controller configurations switch the trigger away from R2 (this is on the PS4). Granted that actually is the trigger button on the pad, but i prefer the shoulder button (R1) as it's quicker to tap....
You can re-map button configurations on PS4 by going to Settings -> Accessibility -> Button Assignments and then selecting 'Enable custom button assignments'.For what you want you then just select L1 to be L2 and R1 to be R2 and this will swap the buttons for you, regardless of whether it's a setting in the game.
Just remember that this will be for all games unless you change it back or de-select the 'Enable custom button assignments' option.

I've completed the campaign yet ultra nightmare difficulty is still locked. Has this happened to anyone else?
does it only unlock after completing on nightmare?. Apparently it is horrendously hard and you see the skulls of everyone who has died to it over the last hour littered around Edited by krunchkin on Saturday 21st May 14:20
Picked this up today after it was waved under my nose at the entrance of Sainsbury's this morning Only played a bit of it, but I can see me enjoying this one, nothing to think about just blast the beejezus out of everything, great stuff!
One thing that struck me straightaway though was the left stick lag when trying to move, almost a bit of a dead zone you might introduce for driving games for instance. Anyone else felt this? I'd like to move the moment I press on the stick as this feels a bit odd TBH

Thanks for the advice. Eventually i trained my brain into using the trigger button again, but i might well use that approach in the future. For what you want you then just select L1 to be L2 and R1 to be R2 and this will swap the buttons for you, regardless of whether it's a setting in the game.

Completed the game on the 'normal' difficulty last night. I'm not sure how long it took, but it felt like a pretty big campaign. All-in-all a great game and one i could see myself going back to. I gave the multiplayer a go but it wasn't up to much. It had the same arcady fast-paced feel of the CoD games, but nothing like as well refined. It just felt like an add on that someone had bolted on because they finished the single player with a few days to spare. I might have got more into it if i gave it more time though.
