I am trying to Cross The Bridge at the moment, i've got to the bit where there is a gap in the bridge probably about 20 times now but no matter what I try I can jump to the other side. I fall down the gap, and get killed. Every time.

Frustrating the hell out of me.
I got stuck there too. You can go further down the broken bit before you jump than you think. Do the second jump after a decent pause to get the distance.

Drove me nuts but got there in the end. I had to check a Youtube vid to make sure I hadn't missed something.
Wahey! I got past it, cheers. Now in the tower room thingy.

This is the most metal game i've ever played. Really needs to be played in the right atmosphere IE lights off, speakers up full blast, not on a macbook in starbucks on your lunchbreak...

Picked it up for £28 from cdkeys.com if anyone is still looking.

Must admit, got a bit bored with the cyberdemon fights. Maybe I have just lost my MoJo.

Might go back through the first few levels and do some secret hunting.

I have been playing fps for at least 20 years and this is really good. Only frustration is finding all the secrets places. In comparison to cod it really is in a different league and do glad it came along

I am now stuck again - in the Kadinger Sanctum or whatever it is called. Too many big buggers to fight all at the same time, must have tried it easily 70 times now and I get killed every time.

Finding the secrets and playing the old doom maps has been my favourite thing in an FPS since...well playing the old Dooms really. Great touch.

I've found movement to be key. If you simply stand still and try and face them down, you're dead. Jump, run, climb, etc especially if they are closing you down and you're sporting the rocket launcherhehe

Dont recall a particularly tough battle in that place, but I'm only playing on Hurt Me Plenty

Getting the "Rich getting Richer" rune was frustrating and took several attempts, self inflicted rocket damage being the main cause whistle

They keybis movement and using different weapons. Explosive shotgun in great for barons of hell, save the chainsaw for the big bds (extra big brucy bonus'). Alt fire with the plasma rifle is good to freeze the biguns, then hit them with rockets, alt-fire gaus rifle or chain gun. Also aim for heads, does more damage. Go for as many gore kills as possible, shotgun imps and finish them with the gore kill. You get extra, health and goodies as well as being invincible while it's going on smile

Yep, movement is utterly essential, not just in circles but climbing platforms as well. Trying to play it like you would COD and you'll last mere seconds. That said, if you dare sit still for a few seconds the gauss cannon's siege mode is awesome against larger foes.

I got annoyed for the first time this weekend. I was in the middle of a major battle at the top of the Argent Tower, when the level suddenly ended and I had to save and continue. I had been intending to go back and find the secrets I'd missed, as I have done on previous levels. It would have been a pain, because the Argent Tower is such a massive platform-type level, but I'd have done it if I could.

Yeah I was planning to do the same but I guess when you are battling deamons from hell and someone opens a portal home, there is not a lot you can do hehe

As it was I had already missed secrets from the very start of the Argent Tower, and something I really like about Doom is the way you can start any compelted level again without messing your main progress. Also extra secrets you find when you go back, apply to your main current progress.

Finished at the weekend. Realised I was being a d1ck with the cyberdemons.

My method was to have the super shotgun equipped at all times and get up close and personal. Chainsaw when running low on Ammo.

A+++ Will play again smile
