That's going to be intense if they get it right. I'm in.

I wonder how they have solved the movement issue, especially in a fast game like Doom. Pity there is no gameplay footage.

Currently on the Kadingir Sanctum, but I've spent the last two evenings going back through the first two levels completing achievements and finding all secrets and items. I did that as I went along or by going back in the Foundry and the Argent Facility, but not in the Argent Tower, because of its nature and the sudden ending. I may go back to the Tower this evening. I didn't have any problem with the jumps on my first run through, particularly once I worked out that the second jump is better made not instantaneously.

I am in the Kadingr Sanctum too Zod, it's a difficult level! I am up to the bit where there are some new massive pink monsters to fight and I keep running out of ammo. Still really enjoying the game though.

Haven't go to that bit yet, but had heard that the Pinkies are tough. They were never that tough in old Doom! Sounds like my choice to upgrade the pistol was wise, given your ammo problems.

Kadinger was tough.

I've got out of hell but am now going back in again and had to fight a really big lad (twice).
I hate the pinkies, dodging them is easy of you have the space but some fights are tight and with loads of other demons around it causes problems.

Yeah I don't like the Pinkies, you godda shoot them in the ass. Fine in principal as you just dodge them and then unload an explosive shot gun shell up the bum, but they always seem to come in pairs.

Pinkies? Are these the horned Barons because yeah, they can be a PITA - the BFG tends to make light work of them though!

Nope, the pinkies are the squat ones that charge at you.

Well I played the first 2 levels that were available on the demo. There was a level where you wake up on a medical examination bed in chains and escape, followed by a very orangey level outside.

The game is truly amazing. Graphics are great, and it's very immersive. Trying to rip baddies apart to steal their life force off them in order to stay alive.

But it doesn't feel like Doom, not at all. None of the suspense of hearing one of those piggy monsters charging around in the next room. No secret doors opening behind me. Just baddies teleporting around me and then quickly killing me if I stood still.

Disappointed to be honest.

There's plenty of the "what's going on through that door or round that corner" suspense if you keep at it. There's also the standard Doom take keycard then get attacked by newly spawned nasties thing. For me, it is Doom, because there are plenty of fights in which you just have to keep moving and firing to stay alive. It's full of fights in which you are stuck in a room with the doors locked until you kill all the demons. There is no stealth option. Most of the time you can't just snipe the baddies from afar. You have to get up close.

Second half of the game is a lot better than the first, worth persevering a bit further.

Finished at the weekend. Realised I was being a d1ck with the cyberdemons.

My method was to have the super shotgun equipped at all times and get up close and personal. Chainsaw when running low on Ammo.

A+++ Will play again smile
Just found a Cyberdemon, beat him and then went to Hell. Can't seem to beat the reincarnated version. Any additional tips?

Just jump when he throws the flames at you and keep firing, it's pretty easy just have to time it right.

Just make sure you are close enough to pull off the glory kill at the end, I wasn't the first time I got him down then mess up a jump and had to start again.

I hate boss fights.
On the final one now

Cheers - yeah, this is the first "boss" fight of the game and the dude is a massive bullet sponge (cheap, lazy mechanic but hey, it is Doom I suppose). I keep mis-timing the jumps over the flame attacks (or doing an inexplicable double jump right into the path of the top flame) and it wipes most of my health in one go so any other hit and bam! Dead

I'll keep at it

Jump, duck and for the 3rd swooshy thing double jump.

Once you get your timing it's not hard.
