Great game! Draw distance was absolutely terrible though if I remember correctly.

Ah I loved this game, still do after playing an emulator version of it a few months back. A mate and I at school would have arguments over which of us was the best Havoc pilot, not that there was a way of proving this, would have been great to have some link-up co-op missions available. The draw distance was really poor though, but it was the only way they could get the game to work IIRC (for Playstation at least anyway). Still like the woman's voice who reads out the mission briefings / debriefings.

G-police, aka Voodoo Lights screensaver hehe

I remember seeing screenshots for G-police a year before it arrived and it was like a revelation, all those fancy textures made possible because of AGP!

I'd love to see Tornado by DID remade. Mainly just graphics/sounds... but the rest was almost perfection in so many ways.

I still enjoy a campaign on there now and again, 9 ALARMS on a foggy day and go SAM hunting... you'd think they'd turn their radars off but nope biggrin

Vigilante 8! Far better than Twisted Metal IMO.

I always loved the original overhead view GTA, another simple game like that with modern graphics

Get yourself a Nintendo DS and a copy of GTA Chinatown Wars. I played all of the GTA games upto San Andreas. Chinatown wars is by far my favorite.

Jeff Wayne's The War of the Worlds - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeff_Wayne's_The_War...
basically the RTS of the concept album of the book, although with some differences since the initial attack on surrey is beaten back and the martians divert scotland, and have to take london to win while the humans have to retake the grampians

I youtubed the songs from this last night smile

I am sure to this day that the driving instructor was voiced by Queen Latifah.

Ribbit!

Descent has a remake, It's on early access on steam.

Bushido blade was great, but there I could never be an honourable fighter, it had the nickname of 'ting-death' in our shared house.

I always wanted to play this but didn't have a PC at the time, so had to make do with the vehicle shooter version that came out on the Playstation. As a side note if you're a fan of War of the Worlds, apparently ITV are set to make a TV show in the coming years which sticks closely with the book - could be good.

I'd nominate Mercenary one of the first sand box games.

I remember this one, I had it on the Amstrad CPC, except either through confusion or a bug, I couldn't get any further in the game than the opening sequence of crash landing. I'd crash and just sit there whilst the ship's computer (BENSON I think?) kept asking if I was alive and well. I never knew what to do at that point so never got any further!

In fact just about all Cinemaware games need to be remade. Although they did a remastered version of Wings with 'HD' gfx but that's not really a remake and it was poorly received anyway.
Looks like my wish will come true!

I found the disc to Crimson Skies last night. A tragically overlooked game and would make a great game today.

I'd love an overhaul of the original with superior graphics etc. Human Revolution is one of my favourite games of the last gen; hopefully the new Deus Ex out in August will be awesome.
Haven't played it yet, but this exists:

Great Naval Battles of The North Atlantic II (including the 'Captains game') - that game kept me amused for years.

Also, there was a strategic Star Wars campaign game where you could play as rebels or empire - that was pretty good too...

Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake, seeing as these follow MGS5 in the timeline.

While on the subject, some cutscenes from MGS3: Snake Eater have been redone in the FOX engine for some weird Japanese slot machine thing
