Played the PS2 classics original on PS2 (not the crappy mobile port) and it's perfectly playable and enjoyable still.
It’s almost tempting to pick up a PS2 (mine is long dead) and a copy to see. Edit: £12 on Xbox One! Downloading now
Any 3d game that gets a remake will only detract from the original as the graphics would make it look like an entirely new game.
It would only really work on the likes of sim city or command and conquer, keeping the general gameplay but updating the graphics massively.
An online command and conquer with just epic bases and battles would be awesome.
I would love a joint operations remake, that was bloody ace. Battlefield gets close, but joint operations required jumping aboard chinooks and APC's, boats etc and travelling to the action rather than heing plonked in the middle of it.
Nothing more satisfying than downing a chinook as it prepares to land and getting a good 10 kills in one swoop.

I'd love a graphic update (but absolutely zero game changes) to DID's Total Air War from 1998 which is far more than "just an F-22 flight sim".
The open world campaigns mean that you have complete freedom to do whatever you want, where ever you want to do it, with real consequences which adapt to what you're doing, so no two missions are ever the same.
There's a fan-based update called TAW V2.3 which updates a few graphics whilst keeping the gameplay untouched but if this was given DCS levels of graphics it'd be possibly the best military flight sim out there, way better than DCS or Falcon 4 etc.

A reboot perhaps more than a remake but the SSX series needs to come back. Plugged my GameCube in the other day and it just looks dreadful on a modern tv. Would love a new sparkly version.
Also, Sensible Soccer in all its retro glory should make a comeback. So much fun to play. For the same reasons, the older cartoony Smash Court Tennis games were just perfect. Pick up and play masterpieces, would love to see new ones.
