Games that deserve a remake ?

I've long thought the greatest missed opportunity in the GTA world is to remake GTA: London 1969 in the modern game engine - say a few years later, so something like GTA: London 1974. You've got the combination of gritty setting and ability to send up modern culture (in this case using the past to satirise the present) that Rockstar like, the chance to slide around in Zodiacs and Capris, and it's a bit more plausible that you could break into any car in seconds or ditch the police by disappearing into a council estate if the game takes place before modern security and surveillance.

And there's some good opportunity for the trademark GTA range of radio stations: glam rock, reggae, northern soul, prog...

Sadly Rockstar have gone on record saying they're only interested in telling American stories. Shame.

Both Theme Hospital and Dungeon Keeper had remake / sequels. Both were mediocre at best:

John Hare is making another soccer game, there's another Kick off 2 game in the making from Dino Dini, and rollercoaster tycoon has an official remake (that is looking awful), and 2 others, Planet Coaster (which is looking very nice) and a fan one called OpenRCT2.
