Modern Warfare Remastered
Discussion
I've had this for about two weeks now and what can I say, it's bloody brilliant! Nostalgia is a factor yes but it just feels so right, the gameplay is tight and fluid, the maps are mostly brilliant and the perks\killstreaks are balanced enough with none of them being really OTT.
It has a few issues, namely the broken spawn points, spawning right into someone's gun sights 4 times in a row can be very annoying and other things like the quick scope bug. I know they were in the original but it's stuff that really should have been fixed for the Remaster, however they aren't deal breakers by any means.
I bought the Legacy edition so I thought I'd have a quick go on the new one...and I switched it off after 5 minutes and went straight back to MWR. It really does highlight just how rubbish and gimmicky the new ones gave gotten.

I get smashed to bits all the time on it, but, I enjoy it, for me its the realism of it. Ever since they went all space age, I've hated it, still bought the games mind you, but never liked them.
Quick scoping is ridiculous at times, as is the spawning, random grenades or grenade launchers taking 3 or 4 out at the start of the game, but I guess thats part of what draws us back.

Avoiding the nades and manoeuvring past them on a rush is all part of the fun. So satisfying when you pull it off and take a few out off an early game rush.Quick scoping is ridiculous at times, as is the spawning, random grenades or grenade launchers taking 3 or 4 out at the start of the game, but I guess thats part of what draws us back.

There's one map I can't remember the name of, where it's exactly that, - mad rush, if you get caught your nailed.Either quickscoped or grenaded to smithereens.
It's the ones where you start a game (map with railroad in middle?) and your dead as soon as you spawn by some grenade from miles away. Funny.

There is no map with a railroad in middle, well I can't think of it anyway
Some people annoy me I'm maps like bog and strike where your team mates rush their spawn and they end up behind you when it's easy to just pick them off leaving a small spawn
Maybe its not a railroad then, got tanks and other vehicles in the middle, with a short tunnel underneath. Horrible map. Some people annoy me I'm maps like bog and strike where your team mates rush their spawn and they end up behind you when it's easy to just pick them off leaving a small spawn

Row of tanks in the middle land that's slightly raised with bombed buildings either side? Ambush? Quite like that.
Yeah me too, in fact it's one of my favourite maps. Bog on the other hand is completely broken. Spawn points are a pain on other maps too but this map is the one where it consistently drops me right in front of a spawn campers gun sights 3-4 times in a row.silobass said:

I just can't get my bearings on it at all, and always seem to get random grenaded on it, or sniped form who knows where.Saying that, i don't take it too seriously, just to get a quick release after the kids go to bed occasionally.
Bog, yes, thats the other one, always get sniped or grenaded on that one too, I'm useless.
Whatever you do, don't add me...Matthauman
Best thing to do mate is play normal games, not hardcore and always watch the kill cam, or think about if you were on the other team etc where would you go.
I know every starting point on every map that I'm going too before it shows which side I'm starting and I then have 15 sec to pick the appropriate class.
I also know nearly every spot the helicopter hovers over so you can kill it, just a matter of learning it, when I used to play HQ back in the day we would have 1 or 2 players in our clan already in next HQ spot.
Same as hardcore search and destroy, always put C4 above bomb sites if it had overhead cover and as soon as planted, hit square twice, usually takes them out

I'm quite enjoying Gun Game at the moment, a few days ago a good friend pointed out that I was 5000th in Gun Game in the world, out of 2.1 million. I have since been trying to get lower and lower.
I am now 800th-ish. I am quite good at it now
Its really useful aswell, my accuracy has increased since doing it and since none of the guns have stopping power, when I go back to normal play I do really well.
I have also learned that turning vibration off helps with your aiming, who knew!
