Just remake BF2 but with better graphics. It's by far the best game of the franchise.

A decent Co-Op campaign this time.

Oh and dedicated servers for decidedly average gamers that don't get a lot of time to play so I can stop getting butt f**ked by 12 year olds would be nice.

yes

BF3 onwards just isn't the same. I dunno what it was about BF2. The way commander and squad worked? The ease of communicating between commander and squad leader and the troops?

My fav was BF3, could play for hours on the same map just in one match. Loved Grand Bazar, Operation Firestorm, Caspian border. Could never really get into 4 the same way.

Hm. For me, BF3's maps - Noshahr, Metro.

BF2 - karkand, Sharqi, Jalalabad, Oman.

Massive fan of Battlefield, BF3 for me is the pinnacle for maps and fun. BF4 has been good but just not as good as BF3. I will be getting into BF5 but have learnt the lesson of let them fix the bugs so will be waiting a year until after sale to buy it.

wouldn't be surprised, they have already ruined things going for CoD players so why not go the full hog? Just hope it doesn't turn out to be as comically crap as Hardline!

The problem for me with BF3 was that you had to use Teamspeak externally to the game. Join a new server and can't speak to the members of your squad? Tough.

Wonder if that's why my cousin (who buys all the BF games as soon as they come out) hasn't mentioned it. biggrin

On Xbox that wasn't a problem, but imagine BF4 mechanics with BF3 maps that would be epic

It was more tactical (Commander, UAV, Arty, ability to destroy enemy assets, vehicles needing to re-arm etc), rather than attempting to be a CoD clone like all the others. The troop types were also better varied.

I think you're right. I loved the tactical bit. I remember on Karkand, the commander ordering us to move to one position as he'd detected an enemy squad were flanking. And we knew he'd have the other end covered.

Those were the days. frown

I used to love playing as Spec-Ops on BF2. , Making a run into the airfield on Oman to C4 the UAV trailer was great fun. I was crap at the shooting bit but really enjoyed the behind the lines bit. Had great fun in the Karkand alley too smile

If they did go back to BF2 style , I don't know how they would deal with contemporary trend of camping snipers and the old school absence of death camera.

Really riles me when people go on about "campers" - especially when referring to snipers. FFS, thats what snipers do!! Do people think in real wars a snipers just charges at the enemy shooting from the hip? Or to a lesser degree, any other kit? You need to keep your head down and have snipers on your own team to out snipe the snipers...

As for the death camera, i'd like to see the BF2 camera back - seeing through your eyes at the sky as you die, and then seeing someone coming to teabag you, crazy days!
