really enjoying it, but I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing.
Yup, that sounds familiar!

I did pretty well in my first game today with kills in double figures but, the second game was horrible. The map was a bombed out town (sorry, no idea what they're called yet) and, I just could not get to grips with it. The default medic gun did not work well here at all.

I think my k/d is hovering just above 0.5 which I'm actually quite pleased with (although, I am making a concerted effort to not care about stats until I've gotten to grips with the game and feel more proficient!)
St. Quentin Scar

Google image search St. Quentin WW1. Makes the game look like a nursery.

More gameplay - a little bit more nice shotgun play (I really love it - so easy).
First clip - the spawn on dead guy thing - really annoying.
Second clip - shotgun in buildings is fairly unbeatable
Third clip - took me ages to realise they were on the roof !!
Fourth clip - complete reflex kill on the last guy
Fifth clip - killing a heavy tank with k bullets thanks to a really good squad I was playing with for the first time, the leaderboard at the end shows the 5 of us in the top 6. I think we actually finished that game all in the top 5.
Sixth clip - a lucky horse kill

k/d
Don't worry about k/d dude, just PTFO. I've just checked and my k/d is 1.37 which is hardly stellar. Probably below average and below other FPS I play. BUT, I always make an effort to get on the point. smile

As for sniping, people can play however they wish, obviously, and there will be occasions when sniping from afar is beneficial but I play the SCOUT class as I consider intended- forging a sneaky path forward, spotting enemies, laying traps to cover key areas and most importantly, being a point from which the squad can spawn. After that, snipe, move, snipe, move. smile

I use flares and spot for planes, tanks etc. Infantry rifles only, close to medium range, forge a path between objectives and recce them.

Apparently I shouldn't be playing according to some posters in this thread...

Absolutely, however this is nothing to do with what class you run...

I pretty much exclusively play aggressive medium range scout with the Martini-Henry, changing class to tackle armour where necessary. Get up, put the gun to work and if you die with any flares left in your inventory, you've played it badly.

Had some hilarious moments today!

First clip I'm sneaking in between the walls of the house

Second one I feel sorry for the guy - I knife him and then I stumble across his friends and as I go to knife one of them the original guy respawns and I get him as soon as he spawned!

Third clip I stab a guy and push him out of a window - then finally get him with a grenade and he goes flying

Next clip is brilliant - shooting guys up on a mountain on Sinai - decide to move up. Throw a grenade at a guy and run away from him, kill another guy, come back to the first guy and finish him off, go and lie down and 4 guys run passed me and I kill at least 3 of them, last guy that comes nearly gets me and someone blows him up! Then I stopped to save the footage and the first guy I killed came back looking for me and I killed him again!

Next clip - after killing the first guy I inadvertently dodge a bayonet charge and kill the guy. Then my mate who had joined the other team appears - I kill him but his grenade gets me, but someone revives me and I pick up another kill

Next clip - people keep walking passed me

Next clip - I Super Mario a guy

Next clip - I accidentally fall off the Zeppelin - get another surprise kill by jumping off a roof, and then blow up a guy who just got on the AA with a grenade

Final clip - I got a couple of sniper kills in - but the funny one is the k bullet kill on the guy that crashed the jeep into a wall - get the kill and also destroy the jeep all in one go.

Gonna put up a video later of a really successful rush defense using the mortar.

Played as scout this morning and I can't believe we lost - I was lighting up so many of them with the flares and people were still dying - do people not look at the mini map? Also I noticed a lot of people calling in artillery from the telegraph poles with no enemies spotted... why waste it?

I dont think a lot of people realise you can change the size of the minimap to make it more useful. As standard you can only see what's in your pockets.

Just started playing today and went straight for a "no HUD" option and starting with the RFC missions. Having no HUD is really nice until you have no idea which direction you're supposed to head and can't see the edge of the map which brings insta-death. The pilot mission when you're on the ground I ended up having to put the HUD back on just so I could see where I was supposed to go, plus without any hints I was hiding under the hay cart for about thirty seconds before I realised it was no longer a cutscene and I was supposed to press a button to pick up the brass and throw it. Figuring out which button to press to throw said brass was also a pain without hints, but now I've figured the controls out its all good.

I see vids such as this one and think 'wow, maybe it's worth looking into a gaming pc'.

Then I realise that it'll cost me many multiples of the cost of a playstation, will require constant fking about to ensure settings are correct for online, and routine updates to components to maintain.

Then I think 'fk it, Sony is the answer'!

It's not as if the PS4 / XBox version is Manic Miner on a green-screen Amstrad is it smile

Given how many people seem to cheat in Trials on Destiny despite how difficult it is to do (and DOSing actually being a crime in both the US and UK), I can only imagine how many people are using aimbots and the like on PC, where cheating is so much easier.

From The Division forum it seems like the PC multiplayer was all but unplayable for several months due to the level of cheating.

I thought I'd give this another chance on Saturday. Had a few hours, so though what the hell and logged back on.

Initial game on Operations as medic wasn't great. Seemed to get stuck in a naff squad, even though our team was doing well (we won in the end). Only got around 4000 points despite healing lots, reviving lots, getting killed lots (I know BF isn't about K/d ratio, but I was the most killed on the whole map smile ).

I then decided on a change, so headed over to the Rush mode as I have never played it. Had an ok few rounds, but didn't think much of it.

Changed again and played some Domination (think that is the one, the one where there are three flags and you capture and hold them). Anyway, everything came to plan during this mode. I switched to support, switched the LMG to the open sight version rather than the scoped one and had a few really fun rounds.

I levelled Support to 1, so went back to assault. I had a few even better rounds then. Running around with the SMG was a good idea as I was capturing and killing like mad. I even finished one of the rounds as the top flag capturer.

I found one issue with the game though. On one of the Domination maps it's quite foggy, then it clears. I was having some odd lag issues when the fog was on screen which resulted in some weird deaths (behind walls and rocks etc.). When the fog lifted though, everything was fine.
