On a separate note I'm finding I don't have the draw or urge to play this as much as prior games... Not sure why.
This week my alloted medals included only 1 medal I hadn't already unlocked. I finished it off in a couple of hours meaning for the rest of the week I'm playing just for points. Pretty dull really.GG89 said:

Pretty dull really.Still annoying issues (PS4) shows friends as playing when their PS4 is on but not gaming. So you search to join their game but theres nothing - just the option ask to watch.
I agree with youngsyr, its not a game to play on your own. I played a few rounds today and was 4th in one round, 3rd from bottom the next. 4 shotgun rounds not killing people, being 1 shotted by guns that should be 3.
Can Dice explain how on BF4 it takes 30 seconds from mode select to getting into a game on quickmatch yet with BF1 is long enough to make tea?
Even operations gets frustrating, almost like theres code to prevent a stronger side from getting through too far - has anyone gone through all the stages without losing one of the 3 attempts?
Finding Im switching to another game than making an effort to improve.
BF4 is up to its old tricks as well, horrendous rubber-banding - like it was when it first came out - I spawned and spent 20 seconds walking 4 feet several times.

Clueless noob alert. Just started really. About to hit level 1 on Assault. Got 550 to spend when I do. What gun should I buy?
I'd like a decent semi auto I think.
The MP18 trench is a good gun, optical another option.I'd like a decent semi auto I think.
Model 10 shotguns are worth a go, Hunter would possibly be the first one to get.
In honesty the initial loadout of guns is reasonable. In medic dont forget that the cei-rigotti can be single or auto - apart from the experimental thats burst I believe.
Happy to be proved wrong!
Sorry that's BS, I have a 150mb cable connection and I sometimes experience lag. It can be caused by many factors out of your control, not just how fast your internet
connection is.
Ever had someone dead in your sights and shot first, only for them to turn around and shoot you? That's probably lag (or you are a terrible shot )
Ever got stuck in scenery for a second or two? That's probably lag
Ever shifted backwards\forwards suddenly while running? That's lag
Ever run behind a wall thinking you were safe but still got killed? That's lag
Ever watched a kill cam and the replay seems totally different to what you thought happened? yep you've guessed it.
Lag is a fact of online gaming, saying you NEVER experience lag means you either don't understand the technology or what you are seeing enough to spot it. Luckily 9 times out of 10 I don't experience it bad enough where it really effects my gaming but it's definitely there. I'd say I spot it at least a few times even if it's only for 1 or 2 seconds in nearly every play session where I'm on for more than an 30 minutes and I'd say I have an above average internet connection.

Yeah you can't say it's BS. You may have had some. Others haven't at least nothing noticeable and certainly not enough to complain about. If it's not noticeable, that may as well be not having it. So yes, technically we may have had it but if doesnt affect anything who cares. connection is.

All true but noticeable, game ruining lag that others have described isn't something I've come across yet on PC and I've had the game since launch.connection is.

Pretty dull really.Trying to kill people in certain ways that you wouldn't normally attempt or achieve certain objectives that you would normally leave to others can be very frustrating in the short term, but they can really improve your skill level in the long term.
If you're handy with all of the classes and vehicles, it makes the game more enjoyable as you can contribute no matter what the situation.
I despise "Your connection isn't good enough" arguments..
Lag is indeed an intrinsic fact of online play for everyone. Even if you're sat on a LAN there is latency.
The fact you might not notice it can be down to multiple factors from the server to the soggy bit at the end of the controller... just because you don't notice it doesn't mean you're not experiencing it either - the system could be compensating well or you might become accustomed to it without realising - the same way that my team can have conversations over satphones with a 5 second delay without any issues for instance - the brain can make sense of incomplete information and smooths over things subconsciously.
The fact of it is a 4Mb/S (32mbps) connection is more than enough to get over the threshold and for the content in use.
Latency is the killer for gaming and comes from multiple sources. Physical and Geographical. Electronic - Having a mini fridge for instance next to an unshielded ethernet cable or WiFi LOS can bleed RF energy into the cable/path and increase latency as it confuses the signal.... Every physical connection the signal passes over bleeds energy and increases latency in a minuscule way that adds up.
Latency makes a collaborative workspace a nightmare as the object you're looking at might not actually exist or have changed state if the server isn't able to update before you open it due to a myriad of factors. Gaming is a collaborative workspace without version control.
People need to read up on what they have paid for too... the difference between a 10mbps and 10mb/s connection is vastly different. There is no such thing as meg... just slang that is used interchangeably.
For instance if you have a 150mbps connection you actually have just over 18 megabyte per second connection (Mb/S). A 20 megabit per second (mbps) is a 2.5Mb/S connection... ISPs often use mbps knowing full well people think its megabytes per second.
