I didn't realise he is referring to the CTE which is on the PC.

still hazard a guess that the DLC will drop when the offer for premium and deluxe ends on the 14th/15th?

Yes Phil, however initially getting access could be easier.

You have to install the battlefield application on your phone and the in the application register to be a community tester.

Once you've done that you gain access to download the CTE (community test environment) version of the game (via Origin) and then when you run it you get all of the early access to the maps/content ahead of general release.

It's worth doing even if it isn't exactly explained well anywhere!

Just to check

I have BF1 which I bought for £44.99 when it came out on Xbox. I assume this is the most basic of basic versions.

To get the new stuff when it is released I will need to pay? Will the maps be available to download at a fee? (Premium, Deluxe etc confuses me somewhat) happy to pay just unsure how to go about it

Cheers

I find it awfully confusing too. I bought premium after paying originally for the game that gives early access.

My understanding is the additional content comes out as DLC's which you can buy separately or like I've done pay for the premium pack that effectively doubles the price of the game but provides all DLC's and early access.

Quick q. about multiplayer...

I set "Europe" for servers, "Conquest" for game and it claims "100+ servers" and yet there are always only a handful with anything like 64 players in them, and loads with zero. Is the game not very popular? I struggle to believe there are only a few hundred players in Europe at any one time...

...Or am I doing it wrong? Ta'.
I only normally play Operations but I have noticed a couple of times recently that I have been put in ones that have 0 players, I wonder if there are issues after the latest update

I know on the PC version there has been some odd behavior recently with zero players on some servers, the community have said it's down to the latest patch although I don't know if that is factual or not.

As for the difference between premium and deluxe? I've got no idea to be honest, I just knew that premium gives the early access/DLC's although don't take my word for it, check the contents before paying for premium.

Anyway gripes aside, the new content is bloody excellent! The new maps are also great!

I think the differences are
Basic: just the game
Deluxe: Game +Extra red baron/Lawrence of Arabia content
Premium: Game +Extra red baron/Lawrence of Arabia content + season pass for 4 DLC packs

You can also buy the RB/LoA content separately, and buy a season pass separately (although I believe if you buy the season pass at the moment you ALSO get the RB/LoA stuff included as well)
The individual DLC packs can also be bought 1 at a time but a season pass makes it a bit cheaper-you just take the risk on if the future DLC is any good)

I stand to be corrected of course

I think thats right. Having just bought premium/deluxe in that package, you also get the hellfighter stuff too.

Oops, forgot about that one. You get some other skins and battlepacks too in the deluxe content.

When this month does the new DLC drop? I have premium so I know it starts 2 weeks early for premium owners.

I'm back on Division again with their new DLC at the moment

You can play it now bud on the PC version (it's been in testing for premium) via CTE access. It's very good!

I'd imagine it will be live fairly soon for everyone.

Are any of the maps similar to St Quentin Scar? It's my favourite map in the game. Would be even better if they extended the Trench section to get the proper trench warfare feel!

Last 24 hours have been completely unplayable due to lag. I compromise by playing as a medic and just capturing as many bases as possible and doing the revives and heals. It's gone from occasional laggy periods to every single game being a lag fest.

I played today on and off through the day and saw no lag issues at all. Are you playing on PC?

No PS4. I have some video clips saved. I need to sort a YouTube account out.

Looking at some YouTube videos from what must be the CTR,it looks great, and the date of 14/3 was mentioned for premium accounts,so 28/3 for the rest.

Also more info on the other DLCs, a Russian one with frozen lakes, islands,a big valley, an amphibious one where you replay Gallipoli and the Zeebrugge raid, and one where you fight the great battles of WW1( not sure of how they will do that)

Time to get that premium pass I think
