Drives me bloody mad. 2 guys working in tandem putting 5 or 6 rpg's into a tank to get a kill.

Ok own up who looks at a server that says no x y or z and then plays with x y or z untill kicked?
Haha - yeah, me and my buddy still play every Thurs night (the rest of our mates have long ditched PC). Anyway, if we are having a bad evening we switch to troll mode. Nothing better than going to a knife-only or defrib-only server and rolling a grenade in amongst the dancing masses.

Other minor trolls we do are to claim to be admin if anyone asks if there is an admin online, write things like "im so glad this is a premium only server" and when you get the inevitable "no its not, I don't have premium!" reply "oh, really? I do hate playing with the poor". Finally, if people are typing in some foreign language (even the language of the hosting server location) we'll write "[ADMIN] Only type in American on this server" - that tends to get some anger (Its key you write "American" and not "English" for maximum trolling). And then you have the other things like attaching C4 to the blackhawks on the aircraft carrier at Gulf of Oman and waiting till they are halfway to the land... or being the pilot, getting a full load of passengers, taking off and typing "lets go on holiday!" and then heading out to sea... leaving them with the option to suicide of swim twice the distance to the coast...

They need to get rid of the app as well that let you view the map and where everyone was as a spectator and know exactly where someone is etc.

Of course people will claim that your just st but ive heard it happen with people i play with and have been kicked by an admin using the same system

I remember on BC2 for maximum trolling on PC (IGN: TheAnnoyingDevil) where i would sit in the AA gun on Heavy metal Map and wait for the friendly chopper to start taking off. Once it was at a reasonable height, i would blast away at the tail section. This would cause the chopper to nosedive hard into the ground and register no FF kills laugh Even tank sniping made the chopper nosedive worse. Most of the occupants don't get a chance to bail out in time!
Other thing to do was drive onto the AA gun in a tank which crushed the gunner, again causing a death but no FF kill towards you!

On BF2, the trolling on there was driving a tank or large vehicle onto the runway just as a plane was about to take off!!! C4 on choppers was another delight.

On 2142, the biggest trolling of them all was Pushing the commander off the titan!!!! If anyone remembers, KANE was sat at the top of the leaderboards for a good year or 2 and was notorious for being AFK for prolonged periods and running a script which enabled commander instructions in his/her absence. To get his tags, it was a case of getting a mate to go on his team, push him into an area on the titan which didn't have friendly shield coverage and knife him that way. Him and his cronies were RDX wes so when he was active, it was difficult to get near him without being blown up! Other then that, the usual shooting of friendly transport ships etc still brought in the lolz. To think of it actually, transport dropping on top of friendly infantry after deliberately bailing was just as fun! Insta rages ensued from this form of trolling.

BF3/4 so far has just mainly been bailing out of jeeps/quads etc when driving at a friendly player, causing them to get run over by a phantom vehicle and just die without any repercussions. Blocking doorways was another good one!

Personally i hope they do a follow up to 2142 as it had the best class balance and walkers with large playable area maps (Not as big as 1942 mind) but think they are gonna go back to WW2.

I'm of the opposite opinion, I really hope they go back to WW2 but I have a feeling it is going to be another 2142-style game. All that futuristic stuff they added into the final major BF4 dlc just screams 'teaser' to me. Like a prologue to the next installment.

It was a shame a lot of people missed out on it as barring the rorsch turret, PAC Walker, Floating anti tank mines (Mini footballs) infantry pods to get to the titan, the rest was all the same as BF2 but with a futuristic setting, all the infantry weapons/vehicles etc fired bullets/missiles/shells. Titan mode was a brilliant concept and having commander in game, destroyable assets and a better stats system compared to all the other BF titles made it a cracker.

Just hearing a walker approaching when wearing a headset was glorious! Oh and there was none of this wall running 360 No scope crap that you see on the "futuristic COD" game that's out.biggrin

I think 1942 would be boring, it would be great for those of us that want a decent type strategy war but i love tanks I love choppers and I love jets, all of which were a bit crap in ww2

I'm hoping for a 2146 remake. WW2 games can be very fun and I wouldn't mind if they re-visited that BUT they are a bit limited in the kind of vehicles and weapons you can bring to the table. I'd like them to do a future war concept with one man walkers etc, futuristic tanks and ships etc and include the commander mode. A bit like Planetside2 only not rubbish.

You lose out on a lot of the attachment customisation and variety of weapon scopes etc, but there are hundreds of weapons that could be included in a WW2 game, likewise vehicles. In fact I'd even go as far as to say the 'Armour' side of the game has far more available variety in a WW2 game than in a modern one.

You've only got to see just how much (real stuff) they managed to pack into the Forgotten Hope mod for BF1942, we had scores of tanks (light/medium/heavy), tank destroyers, mobile artillery, self-propelled anti-tank guns, mobile rocket launchers, armoured cars, APC's, mobile flak, gun carriages, jeeps, motorcycles etc. On top of that there was also the Secret Weapons add-on which brought in loads of experimental tech that never quite made it (or only saw limited service) at the end of the war.

Tons of scope for a WW2 game, it's just that we often only think of the usual main 10-15 weapons that are recycled in most WW2 shooters, rather than the scores of different weapons that were actually used.

The only big thing you would miss out on is attachment customisation, but they still did a pretty good job of this in COD World at War, even if a couple of the reflex scopes were stretching historical accuracy slightly!

Have to admit to enjoying WoW immensely. Not as good as the first Modern Warfare but getting close. The PTRS-41 sniper was a special favourite, that distinctive popping noise as it fired was awesome.

I still play BFBC2 on a regular basis (ps3).

Yes it's a lot quieter on the servers but it is so much better than BF3/4.

Definitely agree about the PTRS-41, great fun! I was playing it again quite recently funnily enough and it still plays extremely well. I always liked using the M1 with sniper scope, huge fun and a great sound. Not to mention the BAR on semi-auto as a makeshift marksman rifle.

Even in that game you had a ton of weapons- pistols (M1911 / TT-33 / P38 / Nambu / .357), then the SMGs (MP40 / Thompson / PPsh / Type 100), then the semi-auto/auto rifles (STG-44 / M1 Garand / M1 Carbine / G43 / SVT-40), bolt-action rifles (K98k / Mosin / Springfield / Arisaka / PTRs-41), machine guns (MG42 / BAR / FG42 / M1919 / Type 99 / DP-28), shotguns (trench gun / double-barrel), plus the various anti-tank rockets / grenades / flame-thrower etc.

That was 30-odd weapons and they mostly only included just a single weapon for each class, for each country- and completely omitted the British weapons (Enfield / Sten / Bren etc), French, Italian etc altogether. So it would be easy to reach a similar variety of weapons as found in BF3/BF4 etc.

They also handled attachments pretty well in WAW too.

Incidentally, I haven't just looked all of that up right now- I was having this exact discussion with a couple of mates on Friday! hehewhistle

Loved 1942 and Bad Company 2.. Especially the 'nam pack.. Only problem being that you couldn't lay down..

I like BF3 more than 4 but see myself going back to 4 for a quick blast of satisfaction - not sure why.

Lets hope they get it released with fewer bugs this time..

This times 1000!

I spent hours playing the 1943 mini game on the Xbox 360 it was so simple it was far more enjoyable to play.
