No if you choose to be sniper, I can aim down the scope but if I push R2, it doesn't fire? If I switch to pistol it does fire with R2 as a sniper but the actual sniper rifle doesn't fire?
ETA = Though I've just picked up the armour thing and it didn't fire either!

If you are on the Xbox and have an elite controller with the hair triggers on it won't fire, just switch them back to the long pull. ETA = Though I've just picked up the armour thing and it didn't fire either!

To me its Star Wars Battlefront with aim down sights and a new skin thats also gone back to its PC roots with no customization (or any that i can see), remember when you could only choose between a few guns in each class. Those wanting bf4+ are going to be disappointed i feel regarding customisation.
Im also finding it hard to distinguish between friend and foe and several times ive run past the enemy and neither has shot the other one or watched someone follow an enemy and not do anything. I imagine theyll adjust some of the gun imbalances/power in time as well. Not quite sure about tracking this medal ste either, will be good for the ocd's but to me its meh.
I wont rush out and buy it but will pick it up when im doing my food shopping (nectar points ftw) nor will i get the expansion packs after being burnt on bf4

I had a few more games last night, i'm enjoying it. As for sniping, i find it a lot easier on this than i do on BF4.
Little tip on Rush, hang back near the edge of the enemy spawn and pick them off with a sniper rifle as they spawn in front of you, don't forget to advance when the artillary starts though. I had a few games where i was going 20 kills to 2/3 deaths.

Bloody spawn camper!
Should be able to give it a spin tonight.
Biggest concern is one that won't be fully evident in the beta - the matchmaking. BF3 on PS3 had huge numbers of regular PH players kicking each other's arses - because it was so easy to join up, and chat gave many options. Oh, and rented servers that were actually useful, rather than merely a routine DICE server with a different banner...
Plus matches, which were bloody awesome in demonstrating to many 'better' teams that a complete lack of tactics and a few Scottish jihadists could ruin your day!
All that died for BF4, and it's appeal went with it. Many times I played until the early hours on a weeknight without realising it on '3, didn't happen once (Judge time!) on 4.

After a few more goes, it's become a 'bit' better.
Feels far too Battlefront for me. I just don't like the general movement of the soldier compared to 3/4 or even Hardline(shock!!)
The Map is poorly designed. F is for cluster F,,, E is just a waste of time... Far too far away from the general dynamics of the map and gets forgotten.
Spotting is either right on the persons head or forget it, so if far away you need a sniper rifle to have a chance.
Softcore... so softcore it's got a chastity belt on. I hope they give hardcore a run out on beta to see how it plays.

Overall, I'm really enjoying playing, but there are a few points I feel have been a backwards step from BF4:
Spotting seems to be almost entirely pointless in this game - spotted people don't seem to appear on radar, only have a small icon over their head whilst they're visible (which disappears when they're in cover) and you have to not only ADS but put your cursor bang on them for it to work. By the time you've done that, you may as well just pull the trigger yourself.
Ribbons and medals - whilst progress and tracking isn't working for me, there seem to be a lot fewer "achievements" (ribbons/medals) to earn in this game. I really enjoyed BF3 and 4 as it encouraged you to play outside of your normal style and experience all the game had to offer by asking you to do bizarre sh!t to earn a badge or something.
Radar - seems almost entirely pointless in this game, which takes away the need/ability to be stealthy and encourages flat out running and gunning.

frustrating last night, obviously the beta map is for sniper rifles, finding that one night you can destroy all with 1 gun then the next nothing.
Jury is still out, far too many camping snipers that make the trek from one base to the next pointless - one shot kills from many of the base rifles. May be better on another map.
The planes need sorting too, Ive been up in a Tiger Moth and I can tell you, it wouldnt take 30 rounds to take that out the sky! I hit one of the bombers so many times last night I think I overheated the gun 4 or 5 times and it still stayed up!
Judge time? 10pm?

I am quite enjoying it.
Agree spotting is a touch random and it is rather difficult to ID friend or foe.
Getting really f**ed off with people able to one shot snipe me everywhere on such an open map.
Have managed to lob grenades and kill tanks so that is still fun.
I still can't fire a sniper rifle or any of the pick up kit, which is a touch irritating.

With a beta like this are we just simply load testing as there doesn't seem to be any emphasis on us giving them any feedback anywhere.
I had the same issues with the pick-up weapons not firing (unless I pressed circle randomly and shuffled around a bit) - presumably this worked OK for the previous testers who have been showing off on Youtube for months?
