Agree, playing the single player game against AI opponents will in no way prepare you for the deviousness, underhandedness, unpredictability and outright WTF are they doing moments that is the multiplayer game....and that's just talking about your own PH teammates.
Agreed... Judge... show your face!I remember many a lovely time playing Damavand Peak on BF3, climbing into a chopper with a squad of PH teams mates, guns up, blood up, Wagner blaring on the music system (just to get you in the mood), ready to take it to the enemy and rain righteous death down on them, only to end up with the pilot either
1) Flying it straight into the ground\mountain\buildings
or
2) Bailing\parachuting out in mid-air leaving their squadies to fall to a certain fiery death.

Won't be any jihad jeeping this time round though since C4 doesn't stick to vehicles.
What about the horses? How cool would it be spraying a horse over the enemy.. Edited by p1stonhead on Wednesday 5th October 20:39
I haven't been keeping up with the development of this lads, so with that in mind has the game been "CODified" in anyway?
I saw some statics for the beta which said the top two classes played were engineer and recon, hardly anyone played the "team" roles that are assault (reviving) and support(resupplying). Couple that with the simplified gun information, I really don't want to play a battlefield thats pandered to the COD crowd!
Game does like beautiful though!

They've changed the classes, assault is now more like engineer, medic is more like assualt used to be.I saw some statics for the beta which said the top two classes played were engineer and recon, hardly anyone played the "team" roles that are assault (reviving) and support(resupplying). I think in the beta the map mainly suited assault (anti vehicle) and sniping because it was a large open map. Other maps will no doubt suit other classes. Personally I went mainly assault and medic, but I'm a total engineer we in BF4 anway
I get the impression that it may be a bit simpler than 4 in terms of unlocks, but that will reflect the period really.
Id say BF1 is returning to its roots with the simplified unlocks with BF4 pandering to the COD crowd.
What i did like though was if you take a plane and jump out, you have an airmans loadout (not sure if this is changeable) so when you bail, your loadout is wk. IM guessing they are trying to stop the taxi wes.
Ill buy it but probably not on release day and i will play the single player first as well

I've not played the beta myself but I saw someone mention they have apparently removed the 3D icon that indicated someone was down and available for a revive- they were pretty critical of this and reckoned they had been revived just 3 times in several hours of BF1 gameplay.I was all for the removal of a load of the excess HUD info, particularly the 3D spotting etc- but it's a shame if they have removed one of the few things that really helped promote teamwork.
Can anyone confirm this?

For the record, and the millionth time, I'd been practicing those 'halo' troop heli drops for ages, and got them down to a fine art to drop half a dozen into a proper firefight...
Just so happens i hadn't tried it out on Damavand, and didn't know the heli went dead stick!

It may be that you have to use the "request medic" or whatever it was. When downed there was an option to request a medic so maybe that's what has been implemented rather than it being automatic.I was all for the removal of a load of the excess HUD info, particularly the 3D spotting etc- but it's a shame if they have removed one of the few things that really helped promote teamwork.

I played as medic a few times and found it practically impossible to revive anyone - presumably because they hadn't opted for "request medic" when dead. I think I managed to make 2 revives in the whole of the beta and received none myself. As the unlocks start to come in maybe the medic class will have something special to lure people in but I suspect they still won't revive unless the rewards are high (winning a game doesn't seem to be enough for those on a lone mission).
I'm really looking forward to playing it. Been a big BF fan since BF2 bad company.
I wasn't a massive fan of the Beta map if i'm honest. It gave you an idea of the guns and different classes but would like to see what else it has to offer in other maps.
I've added my username to the Wiki so feel free to add me. I've told the mrs she isn't seeing me for a week when it's released. She wasn't impressed but oh well doesn't happen very often so she'll have to get used to it!

Yes, a shrewd move that I think, will hopefully stop vehicle waste a bit. What i did like though was if you take a plane and jump out, you have an airmans loadout (not sure if this is changeable) so when you bail, your loadout is wk. IM guessing they are trying to stop the taxi wes.

They don't need to request medic, you can still revive them. But there was a "respawn now" so I guess if people use that it will mean you can't revive them. I only managed to do a couple but again it only tends to be done (in bf4) on maps where you get a choke point and a concentration of people anyway - not so much on the big open ones. Unless you're in a good squad of course...As the unlocks start to come in maybe the medic class will have something special to lure people in but I suspect they still won't revive unless the rewards are high (winning a game doesn't seem to be enough for those on a lone mission).
I understand that there is some sort of agreement between the games console companies and the game developers whereby the console companies (Sony, Microsoft) cannot sell the game cheaper for a digital version than the full high street retail price so as to avoid putting games retailers out of business.
After all, many people wouldn't buy from the high street, or even Amazon etc, if you could just press a button and download a copy for less or even an equivalent cost. I know I wouldn't.

To be fair I laughed myself horse at the sheer WTF of it all so well worth the small price of 4 dead sqaudmates.
