Maybe I'm getting to old for these quick twitch based shooters, roll on Battlefield 1 (please don't mess this up Dice)

Yes. I appreciate good comms can make a game better but it's not always possible and a game should still be fun playing with randoms or even lone wolfing. Too many games these days try to force you to buddy up. It should be optional, sometimes I just don't feel very sociable 
At any rate it felt great for the first day or two but just didn't have the strategic nuance I crave to keep me playing for long. I was bored by the end of the beta!
It's very slick though and I appreciate some people will love it. I just think maybe I've been playing FPS games for too long so finding something genuinely new and better than what I've played previously is always going to be a challenge.

Same! And yet for me, this filled the gap that TF2 left after I got bored with it.

A *slight* disappointment though- the aim-bot nature of TorBjorn (henceforth known as Toblerone
) is something that I thought was to be tweaked. I *thought* I read something about the movement arc being slowed to give you a chance. Appreciate these can be countered but still...
Epic 4/5 man squads yesterday. One thing that we struggled with and seemingly ALWAYS struggle with, is getting out of the spawn room on Route 66. It always seems like the opposing team have a Symmetra put her slowly turrets just by the payload, a couple of snipers far back and a couple of turrets near the sides.
Any tips?!

I've just picked this up – it was completely off my radar, but after reading reviews I thought I'd give it a go.
Oh my word. It's a bit fun isn't it? I can't remember the last time I enjoyed an online FPS this much. It's just so well balanced, endearing and just downright fun to play. I've played a mix of offensive people, defensive turrety people and shield people and it's such a laugh. If you start dying lots there are a billion other characters to choose from to turn things back your way. Each game you have seems to be littered with great shouting at the screen moments. This was one - getting a few kills with one guy's ultimate ability seconds before the match end:

So, if you haven't tried this yet and have even a passing interest in FPSes, give it a go. And judging by how they supported Diablo 3 seemingly forever, hopefully Blizzard will keep the maps and heroes coming.

Found Winston to be a very good counter for the pain in the 'arris that is (a good) Pharah. His jump can reach as high, it recharges quicker than her jet pack and he is tank-y enough to withstand a few rockets to the face when getting close. Combined with a gun that will damage if in range (wherever she is), and her low-ish health, we found that people had to switch character pretty sharp-ish.
