I agree about the gunplay being a bit off but my biggest complaint is the audio mix, it just sounds so... flat. I'm listening on a decent 5.1 setup but all the dialogue sounds like it's in a studio. Case in point, I'm in an old crypt right now and there's no effects to the dialogue; no echo, etc. And I've found this throughout the game so far. Everything sounds so quiet, especially outdoors. I've had to turn my amp up far more than usual.

Yes, the more I play the more I have to agree on the audio. I'm only listening through modest TV speakers but I'm in an area now where there is a waterfall right next to me, yet there is no sound from it at all which I found weird to be honest. It is all very quiet generally, so much so I've put the subtitles on to follow the dialog

Oh and this isn't a game for those expecting a lot of run and gun type of action - most of my time so far has been spent jumping and climbing various rocks. There are some gunplay sections of course, but at least some are structured so that you could stealth past them if you wanted. I didn't however, grabbed the AK-47 instead and had some fun biggrin

You have to watch the enemies though, they seem very intent of adopting a flanking approach when you tackle them head on

I'm generally playing in stealth mode anyway unless forced into a gunfight.

Can't say how it compares to previous games, but I expected an inventory of sorts, or perhaps a Last Of Us style crafting system.

But I think the minimalism actually works well. An aiming reticle would be useful but the lack of HUD etc does improve the immersion.

I'm on Chapter 10 now I believe.

I tried to do a bit of this, but I didn't discover the "stealth takedown" until I'd blasted my way through a couple of sections. The game doesn't prompt you about a stealth takedown unless the enemy is in a specific place (like on top of a cliff) but if you creep up behind and hit square (punch button), it'll execute one anyhow. I don't think the early tutorial phase made mention of this or if it did, I missed it

It did, it was in the mansion I think when you hide in some long grass.

I've been holding out on the PS4 so far and will be buying a 'Neo' (the upgraded version) whenever it comes out, probably Sept/Oct - can't wait to see what they do with enhancing this game for that as it's a cert that Sony will want their high profile titles to be updated to show off the souped up PS4. Most likely even more detail and a solid 60fps in story mode.

Hmmm, I guess I'd better start finishing all my PS3 titles.

How did you get that price? I can see the Uncharted Collection for that price but not 4.

Personally i'd be very surprised if it came out as early as that. My guess would be that its going to be spring next year. i would be even more surprised if it made a noticeable difference to this game.
Not trying to convince you into buying one now by the way wink

£42 normal minus £10 for using Amazon Now for the first time (code is widely advertised).

Now is the same day/two hour delivery service. So, if you have prime and haven't used that service it still works.

Am so glad I have an option for 'Auto Aim', as I am useless using the joystick to shoot!

Seems like I'm in the minority of not being particularly impressed.

Jump, jump, jump..........jump, then jump again.

As previously mentioned, doesn't help that the shooting mechanics aren't very sharp.

Chapter 9, and struggling to play for more than 20 minutes at a time.

So i've finished the entire game - Yes i have absolutely nailed the hours. I thought over all it was a good game play. Some bits are very samey but i liked the fact you can either be stealthy or all out attack and when you do attack it's good that they make it quite hard.

I think i'm going to trade it back in and get something else.
