Anyone bought Beam NG? I get sort of tempted, then wonder if I'll get bored really quickly
I have it, I have hundreds of hours on it (I was off sick for 6 weeks lol) it is good and getting better all the time, I have found that if you plug your controller in first it always works (generic xbox controller)

Bulletstorm is £3.74.

Have they removed the stupid Games for Windows Live stuff from it now?

Bulletstorm is amazing. If only they'd make that sequel.

I bought it last Christmas, or last summer sale or christmas sale before that, and I never noticed any Windows Live.

Bulletstorm is good fun and certainly something very different from the norm. It should run on older machines without too much trouble either.

If you've never played the Portal games (and why not?) they're both on for a couple of quid at the moment. Even if you've got them on the consoles, the PC version of Portal 2 lets you play user-created test chambers, which is pretty cool. Also there are a couple of free fan-made mods and one that's 4 quid
Thanks! Just downloaded The orange box for under £4. I haven't played any of the games in the bundle before so should keep me occupied for a bit.

Hmmm... scratchchin

I bought Bulletstorm when it first came out and it was good fun, but the GFWL crap was so unbelievably buggy and unreliable I gave up. If it's been ripped out now it may be worth a punt for a few quid.

ETA: just checked the latest Steam reviews - looks like it's still infected with GFWL - I have an account but the service has been pretty much killed off, so unless you can remember the login you're screwed because last time I tried it wouldn't even let me reset my password frown

I'm sure I got a copy from Origin and they're also having a sale too?

Indulged in a bit of gaming from my childhood - Age of Empires II. Came in a bundle with Age of Empires III, which I've never played before, so looking forward to trying that in the coming weeks.

Total Annihilation
This war of mine
Rebel Galaxy

Will have another look later. Quite fancy Resident Evil remastered.

When it pops back up again, the Talos principle is an excellent puzzle game, similarities to Portal and the like. Highly recommended

I've only bought a couple of Monkey Island games and Grim Fandango so far

This War of mine is a great game, I've put quite a few hours in it. A bit depressing at times but amazingly atmospheric. Planetary annihiliation - I think thats the one you can send the moon against your enemies, I never really go on with it, the units felt too large for the world (which was empty).

I also picked up Ashes of the Singularity - and am really enjoying it. I love FPS and this is the best probably since starcraft. Grey goo also worth a look for RTS but slow. Only thing with Ashes is it seems pretty buggy, mine keeps crashing.

Sadly yes.

Although there is a revised .dll floating about for your legitimately owned copy.

It is quite possibly the worst system I have ever had the misfortune to encounter.

It's still well worth it though.

And Tomb Raider is £3.74 as well. Fantastic game.

Spec Ops : The line is about a fiver, which really is quite a game

Both Tomb Raider and Spec Ops are excellent games. only thing I would say with Tomb Raider is stick with it past the first 30 minutes or so. There are quite a few QTE's in the first half hour which might put you off. After that it opens up nicely.

Yeh I've put a few hours into war of mine. Atmosphere is definitely key. I like it.

Planetary Annihilation is basically Supreme Commander but across planets and space but yeh not over impressed. Bought it to try out multiplayer with some friends which I haven't tried yet. Games sometimes come to life when you play with friends as apposed to AI.

I'm getting the Total War Grand Master collection... or whatever it's called. 75% off... so it's only £29.99 now laugh That should tide me over until TW: Warhammer is on sale!

Assetto Corsa, or Project Cars? Similar price (fully bundled up)... what's the racing atmosphere and multiplayer like between them? (I mean, comparison wise, I know they're not cross-compatible haha)

Get both AC and Project Cars if you like racing games. They're both great. I'm not sure about multiplayer on AC not used it much, Project Cars is ok but the occasional wrecker and tbh the online lobby can be a faff. Once you're in you can't change car without leaving completely.

I bought Assetto Corsa first for the sim (and free addon car and track community), then bought Project Cars for the weather and night time transitions that AC doesn't have. I enjoy both.
