I'd say racing atmosphere is better in PCars, AC feels like a more technical focused sim, whereas PC goes for the full immersion sensory experience...there is more drama in PC imo.

It's one of the few games (if you have the pre-steam CD version) that can be activated on Steam, which is what I did smile

I have a disc and tried to activate on steam, couldn't get it to work...will have to try again.

Race on / race 07 has similar content, not a bad racing game either, usually pretty cheap in the sale

My biggest problem is that I want to play these games co-op. Do you know if Quake 2, Doom or Total Annihilation support online co-op?

This War of mine is a great game, I've put quite a few hours in it. A bit depressing at times but amazingly atmospheric. Planetary annihiliation - I think thats the one you can send the moon against your enemies, I never really go on with it, the units felt too large for the world (which was empty).

I also picked up Ashes of the Singularity - and am really enjoying it. I love FPS and this is the best probably since starcraft. Grey goo also worth a look for RTS but slow. Only thing with Ashes is it seems pretty buggy, mine keeps crashing.
Was thinking of picking up Ashes so I take it it's worth the asking price? Also if Planetary Annihilation is disappointing you can pickup all 3 Supreme Commander games for about £6. I know SC2 is often said to not be as good as SC or SC Forged Alliance but for £2 it's got to be worth a punt? Not played any of them so looking forward to adding them to the collection (and then not getting round to playing them)

Id certainly be surprised if Total Annihilation has that option. Pretty sure it was dial-up era, same with Doom. However there might be 3rd party software options available that allow multiplayer games.

Correct. That is on the list.

I opted for Project Cars. I can't stretch to both right now, this has pushed my luck a bit as it is wink

The Ship, Remastered (now with world leaders)

Murder multiplayer game, includes Clinton, Drumpf, Osama, Maggie, Kim Il Sung and Tony Blair.

Yes it does, played many a game online or on LAN.

I will probably be in the minority, but I'd recommend X3. It does have a steep learning curve but there's so much to do, much more so than in Elite IMO.

Bought Brutal Legend last night, played for half an hour, lots of fun. Its a simple action RPG, but the jack black/heavy metal theme works very well

Mods here for it: http://www.beamng.com/resources/

Quality varies for the 3rd party cars, some damage like they should/original content and others are absolute tanks. Still worth looking at though! smile
