Catch 4 = 1 evolve.
1 evolve = 500xp.
Stock a load of evolves and use a lucky egg to do them = thousands of XP.

I have 200 pidgey candy and about 180 for Weedles at the minute! Hadn't played it in about a week, but Pokemon seemed easier to catch yesterday.

I've officially given up. Did an 8k ish walk. It registered as about 3. Both the 2km egg and the 10km egg crashed while opening.

In whole walk, a pidget, 2 rats and 2 ghastlys. WTF is the point as a rural player?

How long do you need to hold it for? I checked and couldn't see anything so I'd guess I didn't hold it long enough (despite being another 1800CP thing at the same gym), and my Pigdywotsit is back in my inventory.

I think it's 21 or 24 hours before you can collect.

You can collect immediately. After that you have to wait 21 hours. Get few gyms quickly and collect that's what I do.

You can collect immediately. Once you have collected you have to wait 21 hours before you can collect again. The best way to do it is take as many gyms as you can in a short space of time and then collect. I've managed 5 with a couple of friends, 50 Pokecoins and 2500 stardust!

Max is 10, possible if you're smart about it.

Go out in the car in the early hours and gyms will be easy pickings to get pokecoins.. not like I did that or anything
