When it's raining is pretty good too. Gyms on out skirts/in villages are solid ones to hold. I don't bother with town centre, they change hands too quickly.
So.... What makes a gym impregnable then?
I went for an extra stroll on the way back from the pub tonight to hatch a 10k egg, and came across a level 2 gym held by a solitary 998 CP Yellow Golbat.
I attacked it four times, each time with at least three Pokemon over 1,000 CP, and got utterly shafted every time. On most rounds, I hardly took a single CP off the bloody thing!
I noticed towards the end that I only had a single bar of mobile signal. Could this have something to do with it?

Gyms aren't about one high Pokemon, they're about a consistent and varied group. If you can get 6+ 1000CP+ Pokemon in there it's gonna be hard for a single person to take down.
Obviously with 2 or 3 people attacking at once even a Lvl 10 gym will fall pretty quickly, gyms are designed to change hands really.

inverurie has a few.town hall, war memorial, weird fish statue by the public toilet, inverurie garden centre, masonic hall, church next to craigdon, 2 in kellands park, kintore arms.
luckily the traffic is crap going home so i can tag 6-7 on my way home.

How do you insert more than one of your own Pokemon into a gym?

There are 4 visible near my house, all four are held by the same bloke from yellow team with a Snorlax, a Dragonite and 2 Arcaines that are all over 2200CP.
They're going anywhere and clearly someone has too much time on his hands!

Sorry, not clear, he has one massive Pokemon "leading" each of the 4 gyms. There are 4 other, different occupants in there too, 5 in one case.MiniMan64 said:

Just observing someone's been playing a LOT to get that many high level Pokemon.
