Vaporeons are excellent gym sitters and a pretty good at taking down the high HP Pokemon as they're high HP themselves. I have a 2500 CP Jolteon that loves demolishing Gyaradoses but for Snorlax/Lapras/Vaporeon I usually counter with a 2900 CP Vaporeon

I see, I've only ever had one 90%+ IV Eevee which turned into the aforementioned Jolteon. The couple of high-ish IV ones which have turned into Vaporeons all have Water Pulse!

My gym attacker of choice is my trusty 96% IV Dragonite with Dragon Breath/Dragon Pulse followed by a Rock Smash/Stone Edge Rhydon and Jolteon for the Gyaradoses.

Not sure where his knowledge is coming from though.

Candy, yes. Everything else, meh.

I've never gotten anything like a decent Pokemon from a lure, and more pink Pokemon? Don't think any of the ones I'm waiting for are pink.

Slowpoke and Chansey increases will be handy, as I think they get more associated with them in Gen II. More candy for the grinder to get me up a level will be handy too.

The double candy for walking might really help me with Squirtle, Bulbasaur and Charmander too, who I caught some but not enough of in the last event.

Lures might be useful, but I'm never in one place enough, as there isn't a pokestop at home or work.

Get as many as possible so you can get a Porygon2 when gen2 finally arrives.

I've heard that candies won't matter for the gen 2 carry overs. We'll need special items to evolve the likes of Slo-King, Umbreon and Porygon 2 etc.

I didn't realise that the double candy thing also applied to catches, a pleasant surprise to get 6 candy for each of the three Magikarp I caught today. I will get a Gyarados one day!

Quite a few Porygon and a Lickitung for me this morning. I wasn't expecting Porygon to be part of the pink bonus event. No Chansey's so far.

A six hour lure is all very well, but my iPhone battery doesn't last that long.
