Find a/your location and it shows what Pokemon are nearby, live, with a timer on ow long they'll be there.
I'm going to test it at lunch

I know what you're saying. It's there if people want to use it anyway.and will take a way the joy of a rando awesome poke ? (which could also be sommin else ;-)
I mainly want to try it because the '3 step' thing is still broken and I've chased rare pokemon a few times now with no way of actually tracking them down.
For all you experts, I have a question...
I have a Squirtle at 303CP and a Wartortle at 191CP. Am I right in thinking that the higher CP the base Pokemon the higher the evolved form will come out?
So I'd be better off Transferring the current Wartortle for the candy, then powering up the Squirtle to max CP then evolving?
I've currently been keeping the highest CP Pokemon when I've collected duplicates. Is this right?

As I understand it CP is based on your level. The higher level you are the higher cp is possible. So for instance your Wartortle could be a lot higher it just means you need a lot more Stardust and candies, obviously if you have a higher unevolved pokemon, when evolved will go higher still.
Also, I wouldn't waste Stardust on Pokemon that low - even low level gyms are holding Pokemon with 700+ CP, so for now I'd just save any stardust you have until you need it to win gym battles.
You've got the right idea though, generally speaking a CP300 Squirtle is more valuable than a CP150 Wartortle.

Totally get this. Just trying to work out if I'd be better off evolving the higher CP Squirtle into Wartortle and then evolving into Blastoise to get the highest CP possible. Currently thinking if I evolve my 190 odd Wartortle then I'll get a weak Blastoise which will be a waste of 100 candies. ashleyman said:

I guess the answer to that is how much Squirtle Candy do you have and how much will you get? if they are really rare then no. As candy will be few and far between. GarryDK said:

I've currently got 60 plus the 303CP Squirtle and 191CP Wartortle. I find Squirtle a LOT more than Charmander and Bulbasaur. Never seen a wild Charmander and only caught 2 Bulbasaurs and 1 Ivysaur in the last 5 days of playing.
when I look at one of my pokes there is a space between his stats and the transfer button with a date on it
is there supposed to be a map marker there ?
as I read a story about that guy in ny who got caught by his mrs on a map at his exs house where u caught a poke

ETA: When I was in Spain I was using a US download of the app, which may be why...

I'm out. Last played Monday, felt too burnt out to play Tuesday, deleted Wednesday. Fun whilst it lasted, but ultimately, I do not have the time or energy to spend playing Pokemon Go everyday. Too much commitment to play competitively, and no fun for me casual.
I still have Final Fantasy Tactics to finish on iOS!
