It's a good indicator though, at least you know where to head to if you want to catch something new.

Did you try any Razz Berry on it? Sometimes it works!

It slightly ruins the fun as you can put your lo action and it will show you nearby pokemon along with a timer for how long they'll be there . Atm I only ever see common ones as they stay in an area for 15min.

whilst out for a remote walk today I stumbled upon a unclaimed gym. As I'm only level 6 I struggled to even figure out how to leave a pokemon there but now its all mine!!!

This raises an interesting question - you can fight your own team's gyms to raise their prestige, can you fight a gym that only has one of your Pokemon in it, thus levelling it up to put more of yours in there and earn more stardust/coins for it?

You can only have one of your own in a gym of any level. Levelling it up will open up spots for others in your team though. I was in the vicinity of a friendly controlled gym last week and there was a space open so dropped Pinsir in there.

On the site it clearly says it depends on the server. So if the games server is down or problematic it won't work properly. Also squillions of people are accessing the site now it's becoming known.

There is also geopoke.com you can use. Does the same thing.

Because he is not in it. There's 143 pokemon so far. Not 151. 1 guy has collected all pokemon already after 150km of walking.

Well considering my pokedex goes to 146.. I'd imagine there IS 151.

Ditto, the legendary birds, mew & mewtwo have not been released yet.
Also four Pokemon are region specific so we can't get kangaskhan- Australasia, Tauros- USA, Far Fetched- Asia.
In Europe we get mr mime. Think he is the rarest available Pokemon.

Took a trip into Birmingham yesterday, it's just crazy how many Pokestops are there. We went to the Catherderal and it was crazy! 8 Pokestops all with lures going off. I got around 20K xp in an hour or so.
