This game can be very frustrating, was out with a friend yesterday, found an Aerodactyl. He is level 17, I'm 21. His Aerodactyl CP was 964, mine was 29!!!!!!!

It has to be purely luck based as that can't be right surely.

Because he is not in it. There's 143 pokemon so far. Not 151. 1 guy has collected all pokemon already after 150km of walking.
Well considering my pokedex goes to 146.. I'd imagine there IS 151.
And mine goes to 140???

It goes on your highest Pokemon # seen.

Dratini is #147, that's my highest. If I catch or see Pokemon # 150, it'll go up to that.

Haha, I'm still figuring stuff out! Only just realised you can spin your pokeballs to improve chances of catching!

We definitely need an FAQ! I'm only level 5 and way out of my depth already.

For instance, the local gym icon keeps changing colour and different animals appear over it. I guess that's different factions taking it over? I'm not going there as it is next to a school and play area... Yeah.

The ones that you currently cannot get is.

the 3 legendary birds
Mew
Mewtwo
Ditto

They are in the games code but you cannot catch them.yet.

Also, the game checks your location every 60sec In order to get the distance and deduct that from the egg counter. The distance is always measured in a straight line and doesn't consider corners/turns. So if you're trying to hatch an egg, walk a straight path. Ontop of that if the distance is greater than 300metres the distance is rejected.

300m/min equals 18km/h.

What's your source?

Dunno what your source is, but that's incorrect.

I've Walked in a circle for ten mins and the distance has gone up.

Assuming you didn't come back to your starting point every 60s, then it would go up. Just not as much as if you walked in a straight line.

Took a trip into Birmingham yesterday, it's just crazy how many Pokestops are there. We went to the Catherderal and it was crazy! 8 Pokestops all with lures going off. I got around 20K xp in an hour or so.
Snap! We had a walk round the town too and caught some uncommon (to us) stuff, good day overall

I think something went a bit wrong today!!

Then a few hours later this happened but wasted everything I had and couldn't catch it. I did manage to find the Aerodactyle with the help of PokeVision and it was 1050CP!

Im currently in Sydney, I had a walk around the Opera house today which is a popular pokespot. I couldn't believe the amount I caught, probably more in 10 minutes then I have in the last week. Goes to show its worth walking around city areas

I think it's a bit crap that there's always mountains to do/catch/swipe in urban areas.. we're not exactly short of reasons to go there already. It'd be nice if it was promoting getting out in the country - which is, after all, where you find actual nature, so why not Pokémon?

There's a canal with dozens of locks along a mile or so length just up the road from me, and that's got plenty of Pokéstops and reasonable spawns, but typically being away from towns seems to mean you're wasting your time, which is a shame.

On the other hand, I'm currently in a tiny village in Scotland which happened to have a gym, now mine biggrin I put my 643CP Pidgeot in there, and two team-mates helpfully reinforced it with a 131CP Bellsprout and a 73CP Venonat hehe remind me again why you can't have more than one of your Pokémon in a gym....

I downloaded this to give it a tey, but have found it frustrating.
Was to the shop and back (ok only 1/2 mile trip) several times.. Nothing.
Walked to big shop (2 miles) - 1 pidgey.

Thought "why not try the bike?" 5 mile ride, 1 rat and something that buzzed and was really big and round, but the game crashed so I couldn't catch it.

Looking at poke vision, there's only 2 Pokemon in the whole of wilmslow one rat and one pidgey. Effectively means game unplayable unless I move back to Manchester city centre? I mean - poke vision doesn't know my level so there's nowt to catch here!

That's like putting up a tiny picket fence around a castle hehe

I'm currently part of a 6 man strong gym in town, I honestly don't see us losing it anytime soon, all our Pokemon are 1000cp+ redface

I spend a lot of time just up the road in Alderley and it's exactly the same while going on a walk there. Pigeons and rats.

If I come across a rival gym which has something with high CP (say 750cp vs 250cp my top Pokemon) is it worth trying to attack it at all or is there no point?
