A lot of high end phones have amoled displays, so that's very untrue.

To chuck my own two pence worth in...

Hopefully the power save mode will be reintroduced. It's a good idea but it made the game unresponsive more often than not on my phone (Samsung Galaxy S6). Apparently your phone was supposed to vibrate whilst in power save mode when you came across a Pokemon, but that didn't work for me. To be honest though the idea of having to walk around with your phone on to hatch eggs never seemed like a great one. I would have preferred it to have been on a timer.

The footprints were useless, so the loss makes no odds unto itself. But when combined with Pokevision being taken offline, it makes for a game that has little interest as it stands. I'm more than happy to put the effort in when there's a good chance of success at the end of it. But as it stands, this game just joins the pantheon of other modern games where its core mechanic is a very low percentage RNG. No skill required, just masses of grinding. Oh and FWIW, I have seen people claiming that Niantic wanted Pokevision offline as it was the source of a lot of the server demand problems. I've no idea whether that's true or not, but if it is the case then fair play.

Looking through the list of updates, what amazes me is all the tiny irrelevant things that they fix while the game has much more significant problems. If Niantic were put in charge of the fire brigade, the next day's headline would no doubt be 'homes lost in blazing inferno while local fire brigade run spell speck on administrative documents'.

The whole game has an alpha build feel to it. A potentially great game suffering from chronic lack of development. If someone asked me today whether they should download it, i'd say wait a few months for the problems to be sorted.

Hurrumph hehe

Well, many thanks to whomever explained about evolving loads of pigeys, ratattas and those little weevil things whilst running a lucky egg! smile

I just went from level 15 to level 17 whilst doing nothing but that! biggrin;

I stand corrected, they only pulled it out of iOS. Android still has it. For me it always worked as it should.

Has anyone on here had this issue where their account has been reset to zero?

I've not downloaded the Android upgrade yet, and I'm thinking that it might be best to leave it that way for the moment?

I've updated on Android, not an issue. Apart from on the common this evening only one solitary pidgey about according to the box on bottom right and never encountered that.

I read that it's because it picks up an email address not connected to the game. Just log out / in again to the game to get back where you were.

Does seem a bit odd there isn't a run in background/screen off mode, like there is for pretty much every single running app there is

If you haven't already seen it, take a look at this thread on Reddit. If you've spent money on the game, people are requesting refunds of IAP due to Niantec changing the way the game works.

I have to say I don't get it. I spent Saturday hunting Pokemon, staring at the screen and getting excited about finding computer generated images put on it by a nerd in a windowless room but felt life was passing me by. So Sunday took the bikes out into the forest, pub lunch and got back to fit an exhaust on the car rebuild and started to plan the new bathroom. By comparison Pokemon seems like a total waste of a day.

I'm wondering, if I delete it will my existence be better or worse?

Oh that was easy. Deleted. Back to the real world I go.

Your existence may be better off, but you'll still be a nob.

Thank you for your kind comment, reality is difficult for both of us I see. My 15 year old gets angry too when life gets in the way of his gaming, do you give your parents a hard time as well?

yikes

I am staggered at how much some people have spent on that thread!! There's one guy who reckons he's spent $140!

I did spend £1.99 for some extra incubators to make the most of my walking, but by and large, a big part of my satisfaction in games like this comes from seeing how far I can get without making any significant purchases! smile

What an utterly bizarre comment to make! Maybe you'd like to show us on a doll where V6Pushfit touched you inappropriately in a different thread? Something presumably must've happened to warrant that sort of response?

Your comments are bit nob-ish to be honest.

You tried it and didn't get it, so deleted it and did something else. That's perfectly fine and you could've left it there.

There's no need to make the silly comments about nerds in windowless rooms and getting back to reality, it just makes you look a bit small minded and condescending.

Gaming is reality for millions of people around the world, it's one of the biggest and fastest growing industries, whether that be Pokemon GO, Minecraft, Call of Duty, FIFA..

Dedicating time to playing a game is no different to watching TV, reading books, painting, playing an instrument etc..

They're just things that people do to occupy time and enjoy themselves.

Do what makes you happy, there's no need to act superior to people that like things you don't get.

I just gave an opinion from my experience, it may not match yours though. Not very post is going to be gushing about how amazing the game is, mine is a view a lot share so get over it.

I am over it laugh

I just think it's one thing to have an opinion of the game, and another to aim at the people that make and play the game.

One is fair and objective, the other is petty and unhelpful.
