I was in a clan called [DP] and went by the name Outlaw smile

Great memories!
Think I vaguely remember the name, not sure if I ever played against you, I ran a clan called [RoAr] as CarTmaN for a long time then joined {AV} under the name Quivver. To this day I haven't played an FPS that felt as good and as balanced as AQ2. Single headshot deaths from all weapons made it a super tough learning curve, Counter Strike just seemed so slow and clunky in comparison.

Homeworld, the destruction of Kharak

Still sends shivers down my spine and consistently drove my absolute need to rescue all 600,000 colonists!

fk the Taiidan. Remember Kharak, always!

Great topic, so many great gaming moments so here's just a few in rough chronological order.

1) Getting a CBS Colecovision for my birthday and playing Donkey King Jr and Star Wars on the funny telephone dial pad controller till my fingers cramped up.

2) Spending my University grant money playing arcades in Trocadero and Soho when I should have been studying. Favourites where any fighting games, mainly variations of Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat and Tekken. There was a hardcore group of about 30 players who all knew each other with various friendly rivalries etc. Not really replicated since now that everything has gone online sitting at home on your own.

3) Getting a Super Nintendo at around the same time and playing Street Fighter 2 at home and it being almost identical to the arcade, blew my mind!

4) 4th year of Uni getting to be mates with the guy who ran the computer labs and getting involved in after hours LAN matches of Duke Nukem\Quake\Hexxen using the campus servers and PC's. Again mind blown at the possibilities.

5) Gaming nights getting the boys round for mammoth sessions of Pro Evo Soccer and then FIFA.

6) Playing Gran Turismo for the first time on the PS1, the graphics and handling detail was unreal and it's what eventually got me into the Japanese car scene which led me to owning a Subaru and 2 Skylines in real life.

7) Playing Counter Strike competitively, as others have mentioned when you are last man standing on your team Vs 3-4 people and manage to win, rarely felt my heart thump so fast or felt an adrenaline high like it.

8) Playing Cod 4 and Battlefield BC2 with PH'ers. Never laughed so much while playing online.

9) Last of Us Multiplayer, when you run out of respawns and again are the last man standing, gave me a similar heart thumping adrenaline rush as playing CS which I hadn't experienced since playing that game.

I was the same, didn't think much about cars at all before playing Gran Turismo, I thought my 1.8 Ford Escort LX was the bees knees! What a muggle I was...

The achievement of victory on Rainbow Road @ 150cc on the SNES, sweating buckets and ended up about an inch from the TV (which back then wasn't that big).

So many!

The first time I played Doom on the PC
That opening scene of Half Life on the monorail.

Pretty much all of Mass Effect, however THIS scene with Sovereign is epic - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ppQWYU2B7x8
"You exist because we allow it, and you will end, because we demand it". Great intro to the enemy.

Also, this scene from Witcher 3 I just love. That wide shot, with Geralt opening the door to the left, with the long shadow, is just a fantastic image:

Lastly, however, it has to be the first time I played Elite: Dangerous in VR. A real "next step" in gaming, totally blown away by it.

Such a badass line. Shame they completely ruined it with the ending to ME3 though. 150 hours of OMG capped with 15 minutes of WTF

The moments that have brought the most fun for me have been playing BF3 & BF4 with fellow PHers and those games where you win the round by 1 ticket...especially those where you come from behind.

When that music starts playing as the last few tickets count down....and that brief moment when the round ends...but you don't know the outcome...only to then see your team victorious.......priceless hehe

Two moments come immediately to mind...

Operation Flashpoint - After Montiniac mission. You realise you're alone on a huge island and being hunted. That mission almost made me pass out I was holding my breath in suspense so much.

Zelda: Ocarina of Time - Stepping out into Hyrule Field for the first time. The music, the enormousness of it. Seems crazy now but that game world was incredible at the time.

The one that stands out for me recently was driving this car in Forza 6, in the rain:-

The pops, bangs and the "thud" it made as it changed gear made the hairs on my neck stand up smile

Super-Off Road on the SNES, multiplayer with me mates through the summer holidays brings back some great memories.

Leisure Suit Larry was a learning experience, many giggles at those games.

Finally realising how to play Altered Beast on the Megadrive and being the envy of my school friends.

Morrowind was like someone turning the light on to a whole new genre for me, I've loved open world stuff ever since.

I remember jumping out of my skin more than a few times after being shot in that game! Genuine tension and abject terror! Haha.

Playing Forza Motorsport 4 with a load of people in crappy swedish cars capped at a certain PI level round Laguna Seca. Going into the first corner three wide (me on the outside) and coming out the exit ahead of the the other two drivers all without touching. I don't think I could do that again if I tried.

Yes! The original Operation Flashpoint was superb. No run-and-gun game that.
