I've shaved a little bit of time off by changing the gearing:

I was finding myself considerably quicker with an 8:38 final drive and softening the rear springs a little. I still suck though.

Edit: Small phone keyboard, big sausage fingers.

Had an hour. Really enjoyed it, tricky track to get right. Plenty of time to find but I'm not sure I can put it all together at the same time!

Great time Ash. I'm calling it quits. I can get into the 51:xxx consistently but just can't find the extra time to get near your time.

yes Me too. I'm happy lapping in the 51.5xxs and have had spates of 51.2s, but going under 51.0 has completely eluded me. Ash: are you running 'pro' settings? ie fuel consumption on, no tyre warmers, 26 degrees ambient temp? Could you share your setup once we get to the finishing time?

Keep at it chaps, one tiny tweak could find you that missing tenth. The 50 second club beckons!

Rob I'm using tyre blankets, everything else is pro settings.
cheers smile I was just curious as I didn't want to obsess over going faster if you were running in different conditions and it wasn't possible!

Since we haven't had an open cockpit vehicle yet I thought we should take an F1 inspired car around the twists and turns of the Catalunya GP circuit. With a dry weight of 650kg and an engine detuned to 640BHP this car is no slouch at all - keeping the tyres warm is going to be key to a good time around this 4.6KM track.

Bear in mind that track isn't standard, at least it isn't on the PC version. PC users will require "Dream Pack 2":

I did a couple of AI races with the BMW last night, when you touch another car it just goes "DOINK" and the cars react very oddly. I'm not convinced AC is much good for anything other than hot-lapping.

Has anyone played Codemasters Dirt Rally? The KTM hillclimb got me looking at offroad mods for AC but I'm thinking it might be better to try a dedicated rally game with a co-driver etc.
I don't mind the AI races, but it is incredibly frustrating that if you hit an AI car you always come off badly and the AI cars just carry on almost as if nothing happened. It's nuts. I think only once have I seen an accident where an AI car ended up removed from the race.

Dirt Rally is good, amazing return to form actually. But its rock hard and after a while you start wondering if its fun or not. I stopped playing it.

Ditto. There's only so many times you can drive an RS200 off the side of a mountain before thinking; "I can't do this."

Another Dirt Rally victim here, it makes you feel pathetic sometimes it's so hard to get right. In one of the PH challenges on an ice course I literally got 2 minutes into the first stage, took a corner real slow, lost the car and went up a snow bank and over a wall at 10 miles an hour, rally over see ya goodbye...as I said I just felt pathetic. If there were points for car damage and tree killing I would rock that game, fantastic but so so hard.
