I've done a .143 on my previous fastest.

Need to find the time again in the last sector. If I'm up by the end of the long back straight, I bottle it and tip toe the last bit so not to stuff it up.

Very good.

I'll have a few more tries but I'm not a huge fan of hot lapping too much as I just get frustrated and annoyed. Waste of energy.

Much prefer racing.

Interesting. For me it's the opposite smile I love the idea of trying to achieve perfection with hot lapping, for me it has the same draw as recording in a studio, which I've always preferred to playing live - the opportunity to do something a hundred times trying to achieve perfection smile I think I'm in a minority amongst drivers and musicians though.

I enjoy the studio process for the creativity, but I prefer a take with feel rather than perfection any day - even when I have to listen to stuff back and I can hear the issues, but I can live with that. Most people wouldn't even notice.

For all the thousands of rehearsal and studio hours. give me an hour live any day.

But it's our differences that make the world go round.

smile Absolutely, yes. smile

I think I'd value a job as a test driver for Dallara, Lola etc almost as much as I would being an F1 driver. I know that might sound crazy, but I just enjoy driving the cars, chasing lap times, and being involved with the engineering side of things. I've never actually driven a race in AC, I've just driven round on my own since they launched it! getmecoat

ps - thanks for the video Ash - nice to see what you guys have been driving this week.

F1 cars.. Bit too fast for me wink see what i can do next week. Only really available on weekends now, wheel takes too long to plug in for an hour or two of driving.

FYI, I had a few laps in the F138 at Barcelona earlier. 3 or 4 with my Imola set up and did a 1:25. Loads faster with practice, but a quick reference.

I've just had a quick go in the Lotus at Silverstone GP, just to see what it's like and I was able to climb all over the kerbs without any issues with the ride height dropped right down to minimum. I haven't driven Barcelona, because I don't have it, but I reckon it must just have really evil kerbs.

Thing is they don't look like it, they look pretty shallow but you only have to start to roll up onto certain ones and *flip* you're facing the wrong way.

Got to be honest it's not a track or car I like, but did another 20 laps just to eek another 100th off my time and I can't see me going faster with the controller. I do prefer something a little less darty and clinical, not to say I'll be faster in something else but just in terms of enjoying lapping in a car.

In case you haven't seen it yet, the first of three Porsche DLCs is being launched soon. Not many details at the moment but it appears as if though the 918 will be in the first DLC.

I saw a list of cars in Porsche Pack 1 yesterday on Facebook, but I can't find it again. I've found a few foreign language sites with the same list though:

http://www.motorsport-total.com/games/news/2016/10...

http://www.somosxbox.com/assetto-corsa-presenta-pr...

The release date is apparently Oct 25th.

yes Same here. I think the 917/30, for all its fame and pace, might be ruined by turbo lag, but the 70s RSR should be wonderful smile

I hope the 917 is both awkward and terrifying in equal measure. I'm a bit of a sadist; I even like driving the Sauber C9 smile

Heres the first pack! http://imgur.com/gallery/SRznh
I am DYING to get my hands on the gt4 clubsport, 917/30 and the 935 moby dick..

Over the 3 porsche packs that are coming there will be circa 20+ cars!
Classic silverstone is also being released for free with patch 1.9, you can see it in the background of the 917/30.

Release date is confirmed the 25th, as can be seen here on the steam store page -

Apologies for the lack of communication. It has been a mad week.

I'll set up a Green Hell challenge tonight / tomorrow morning and we can run it for just over a week to give everyone plenty of chance to have a go. Stand-by for instructions!

I'm not a fan of Porsche at all but I'll definitely give these a go and see what the fuss is about.
