Sorry, I've been out of this for a while. From what's stated above, could I confirm that we're only allowed to change the final drive? No camber, ride height, ARBs, springs, dampers, tyre pressures etc? Genuine question as I haven't taken part for ages.

As far as I know all the previous challenges have not permitted setup changes outside tyre, fuel and final drive allowances listed on the challenge posting.

I think the general consensus is, when people have asked before and there have been numerous replies, that the majority do want further tweaking to be allowed.
This is fine by me, I only list the major setup items as a broad outline of what you can do and what I'd ask people to declare in their "settings" column in the interests of reproducibility smile

That explains your mega Shelby laptime! On top of you being a top pedaller too wink

I only do stock for this challenge. I find it enjoyable making a bad car go fast.

Wow, that's mental, great fun. Masses of room for improvement, hopefully have more time later in the week.

It's nuts isn't it? biggrin Ridiculously intense. How did the drivers ever have time to tweak the brake balance or adjust the turbo?!

I had a brief go yesterday, but will have a proper crack at a time later in the week driving

Took me a long time to work out (all) some of the corners but I can't string a full lap together without a pretty big mistake when I nail the first half, so at least another couple of seconds in me, no chance of getting below 1:30 though, hell of a lap that!

Like you, I'm struggling to get a competitive lap where I don't stack it. The main abiding point seems to be: stay the hell away from the kerbs! If you cut the inside kerb, the car bottoms out and you spin. If you run out onto the outside kerb, the lower grip level is overwhelmed by the turbo coming on boost and you spin.

Try knocking the boost back to 80% first and go from there. A biggest spin-risk on the kerbs I found are out of two corners: Acque Minerale 2 and Variante Alta. Don't put the rears on the 'grasscrete' on the exits or it just lights up. Get it straight, get it on the power.

There's a definite knack to Acque Minerale 2, turn in early, get straight on the kerb on the exit and onto the power ASAP, if you check some fast laps on youtube all of them have almost all four wheels on the outside kerb and are well on the power. Ive probably only got it right two or three times, none of which were my fastest time overall.

I can't get Variante Alte right at all, either too slow entry and mid corner or I'm waiting to get on the power as I'm too wide on the exit. All of the others I've felt I've got pretty good, but never all on the same lap.

Wonder what this beast is like round Monaco?!

I've noticed that everyone ahead of us on RSR is using qualifying slicks and their own setup. Once the challenge is over I'll have another go all out and see what happens spin
