I've noticed that everyone ahead of us on RSR is using qualifying slicks and their own setup. Once the challenge is over I'll have another go all out and see what happens

There's at least another second or 2 to be taken off here, but each time I try, I spin
It is definitely easier though with the downforce way up to stick the rear end to the floor, and the turbo turned up to compensate. The car also seems to be carrying 200 litres of fuel as standard!!!

I did have to wonder though - how long would one of these engines have lasted in period, being taken to 13,000rpm with 100% turbo, before spectacularly expiring?

I took fuel out, yes. It's not fair otherwise because someone with two hours to spare could drive round and round until they have 10L left

Not sure it's strictly allowed but the rules in post one aren't clear for a car holding 200 litres, what's the consensus for this weeks challenge?

I was labouring under the assumption that with us now permitting "anything goes" setup tweaks, that included fuel. As people have said, you could otherwise drive round and round until it all burnt off anyway, so why not just gor for a 3 lap blast with minimum load?

If people disagree, I'll re-run my lap with more fuel in

Ah, I thought setup tweaks weren't allowed, bar the change to soft slicks and a notch up on final drive? I don't really have an opinion on it, but obviously I support a level playing field.

Whilst we're on the subject of setup, given than brake bias is basically a control in the cockpit, rather than a garage based setup tweak, I presume we're allowed to change that.

Either in the setup, or go to your controller settings and assigning 2 buttons to turbo one up and one down. So that you can change it whilst driving, if you have a sector where you lose control or spin at 100% you can turn it down for that section. Or keep it down and increase boost settings each lap as you get used to it.

On pst its the square button by default - each press adds 10% until it goes back to 10% again

Well lowering the fuel makes a massive difference, plenty of time to come but out of real time so that's me for this week.

One setup change, I put the wing up F & R by equal amounts, think that time was up 2 F & R to try and compensate for the turbo and just put some laps in. Might put the wing back down for more top speed if have another go, I'm 9kph down on RobM77. 314kph v 323kph. Can't remember if the FDR was changed on that lap or not, what ever I had was just starting to redline as I was braking into T1.

After weeks of not simming my forearms are feeling it right now.... it's a bit of a handful.

Best 2 laps were with the same wing settings, so I could put a better combined lap together, but the car is a bit of a handful, I've said that already haven't I.

I thought I'd have a go with any setup I like, just to see what the car would be like. I spent about half an hour trying, and I know I can go quicker, but my best was a 1:26.145. One thing I will say is that with the engine in qualifying trim (100% boost), the qualifying tyres make the car a lot less of a handful.

I was doing 2 to 3 laps stints and didn't feel any degredation. They gain grip quicker at the start too.

Iv been busy with DIY, so no fully embraced this. My quickest before I found the turbo setting was a 1:44, couple of laps & beers with chemical caos settings last night. Can't compete with the wheel and pedal user
