"The same challenge!?" I hear you ask.... well, this week has a twist to it

So here's the deal - the winner this week is not the one who posts the fastest overall time, but the one who gets to within the closest percentage of their time in the 1M. This ought to mix things up a little!!

To work out your percentage difference, convert both times into seconds. Divide your E30 time by your 1M time, then times the result by 100 - like so:

Mathematically you are actually penalising those with faster times in the 1M - you shrewd minx you!

If you are as relatively fast compared to others then you should not be penalised. But it will be interesting to see who can get the closest to their previous time!

Of course, fastest overall this week can still claim the moral victory

The more the merrier Rod, best get practicing!

Interesting to note your setup there PapaJohns - I'd gone for a sticky max-downforce approach and you've evidently gone for the better straight line speed of clean aero. I think this is the first time we've had diametrically opposed setups on the same challenge!

Yeah I set some ok laps, then I looked back a couple pages in the thread and realised that the 1M was the last challenge

Back to usual service this week, for anyone who may have been put off by the unusual format!

This is a very, very nice car to drive! As much as I wanted to authorise supersoft slicks, unfortunately my experimentation showed they are literally ruined within one lap if driven aggressively - so to keep it fair on people who like multiple lap runs, plain soft it is.

Yeah yeah. Ive done a 1:28.066 on default everything but my stupid ass forgot a picture.

This thing is an oversteering mess - I normally like trying to drive around handling issues but I hate oversteer, especially entry oversteer like this thing! At least with understeer you can change lines and get aggressive.

Even just changing the diff decel setting from 35 to 45 lock makes a huge difference.

Yes - if you have the GP track, the final chicane is a lot tighter!

On the super softs - doesn't everybody have an option for Tyre Wear On/Off? Should have some time this week to bang some laps in.

It's temperatures. I tried a lap on the SS and the rears go over 100C core temp with ease and you lose all grip.
