Not sure if this has been posted yet but PS4 has come down drastically tonight in Smyth's, tesco and others.

Lots of places sold out but still a few around.

Happy hunting

Oooh great spot. Here it is online with lego Star Wars bundle:

http://www.tesco.com/direct/lego-star-wars-force-a...

I'm 100% up for getting that, but I'm totally out of the loop if this gen - can someone tell me if that's the latest greatest smallest PS4 version? I did a similar thing with Xbox 360 and ended up getting an arcade version that was sodding useless and cost more to incrementally upgrade than it would've to buy the proper model...

Edit: preliminary googling suggests there's a recently released PS4 version that is smaller/slimmer supposedly priced at £249 in the U.K, and that there's a PS4 pro ("4K ready") about to be released that in November that has significantly greater graphics power at £349. Sceptical me says this bundle's console must be neither, a run out of the old model, but I might be wrong, and that might be ok anyway smile

Yes, the "slim" (not the official name) will become the new regular PS4, then the "Pro" is coming later. So old stock of the full-size PS4 will be getting cleared out ready for the Christmas season bundles with the new model.

It's not a huge difference in size, not enough to make any difference in a typical TV cabinet, and it loses the optical audio port (if that matters to you). If you see a good deal on the older model PS4 then it makes a lot of sense to go for that.

PS4 with Fifa and Uncharted 4 for 149.99, what a bargain, shame I had a long lie this morning and they had sold out!

Argos say in stock as above but when you go to pay it say out of stock so ignore above deal.

Ive just been to game in Cardiff and picked up the Lego star wars version for £150. The store sold out last night but as luck would have it delivery arrived as I arrived 1130am and 3 onboard biggrin

Is this to clear the shelves and make way for the Slim?

I'd say that is a fair assumption.

I think I might be having an argument in Argos about this tonight, I've reserved the 1tb ps4 with charging station for just under £200, got the email with prices and reservation text. Realised I'd clicked on the store I have to pay to park for, so went back on to reserve at the other store and the ps4 at those prices is no longer on the website...

Will let you know how I get on smile edit: collecting my reservation...

Yeah, it's a clearout of old stock as the new 'Slim' model becomes the standard PS4 (like MS cleared out the original Xbox Ones to make room for the S to replace it) but even so, it's not a bad deal. The older PS4 has an optical audio output and the new 'slim' version doesn't. Also, quite a few people prefer the styling.

Disadvantages are that the old one consumers more power and makes quite a bit more noise (as it produces more heat to be evacuated from the case) than the new model.

I don't see what your argument is ... the offer wasn't going to last forever so you don't really have much grounds for complaint if you go back later to make another reservation and it's not there any more.

Your reservation was at store 'A' so just go there and pick it up and deal with the fact that you have to pay a couple of quid for parking. It's not the end of the World.

Erm whoa there Lucas...why so aggressive?

I plan to go to collect my reservation, I'm not an idiot. I was just trying to point out they withdrew the offer pretty quickly, and they may argue it was a mistake when I pick it up...chill out man, it's only a forum post.

Sorry if you interpreted my post as 'aggressive', I didn't mean my post to be antagonistic but of course I can't control how you choose to perceive it.

Anyway, I misunderstood your point about having an argument with Argos. The offer clearly ran it's course and I thought you were going to complain that you should have been available at the other store instead.

If you are just worried that they won't honour your reservation, that's completely baseless. It's a legit offer as has been confirmed by others which simply ended as soon as they shifted their stock.

PS. Sorry in advance if you take offence at this post.
