I was hoping to have a bash this morning, got everything set up and ready to go....only to find that my internet was down! 
Hopefully only a temporary glitch. I'm quite looking forward to this one, a statement which usually results in a predictably terrible performance!!

All done. Not great but, at least not as bad as last week! Thoroughly enjoyed it though 
The first couple of stages weren't great and included a spin where I confidently accelerated out of it only to find I was confidently accelerating in the wrong direction! Cue emergency stop followed by 3 point turn
I also encountered a problem unique to VR. Half way through the first snow stage, I felt that the visibility was getting progressively worse, only to find that the lenses in the HMD were gradually steaming up! Never had that happen before on any VR game...I must have been getting excited
The later stages seemed much better although, I was given a very sudden 15 second penalty at one point, and I'm still not entirely sure why as I barely clipped the top of a snowdrift (yes, I was airborne at the time) but, I'd probably have lost at least that amount of time had I landed & bounced badly or rolled.
I can only conclude that the Delta and Ford are inherently much faster than the Audi....right, I'm off to bury my head back in the sand

Yeah, I get that: Nvidia software optimised my games' graphics and removed the spectators from view; however, the collision boxes are still there so if you hit one, you get the penalty.
I think that explains it then. I recently installed the Nvidia stuff to optimise the graphics too. Although, I removed it last night as I was getting frame rate issues.I also had a little practice on some of next week's stages and, the rain stages in VR, especially the Night stage is almost unplayable. The visibility is just laughably bad. As a weather effect, it is brilliant and really feels like your in the ass end of Wales in a torrential downpour. As a playable, competitive game however, it is terrible! I fired it up on the flat screen afterwards to make sure I wasn't mis-remembering what it was like on a normal screen. It was fine in 2D, no issues at all.
I considered running next week's rally in 2D but, everything else just feels off. Having been spoiled with VR and feeling like I'm actually in the car, going back to normal is horrible. There is just no 'feel' or connection to the car or what it's doing at all. Very odd.
In conclusion, I do NOT expect to do well in Wales
Forgot to say ... Bonexus on PC is a friend of mine in case anyone thought he was another random!
I'm going to struggle to find the time this week, may have to wait until the weekend! I've also realised that I won't be able to participate in the final week as I'm having new floors installed at home (literally, all the furniture and electric goods I own will be piled up in a single room!
