It is a sickener when this happens, at least it wasn't on last corner of last stage lol. You can discard 1 event out of the season at least so thats yours used up already. Just done the first stage. Only the 3rd time I've played the game so pleased to complete the stage on 1 piece. 33 seconds down on the quickest already though!
Well that escalated quickly... Just jumped over the wall about 1/4 of the way through stage 2!

Early bath then, Tricky event is monte, 1 mistake and your punished, Next week is sweden so have a good practice cos thats no easier lolSee you all next week.
So, it turns out that no warmup and no practice in a car that is a teensy bit faster than the starting mini (the only DR car I've driven in over 6 months) with HUD switched off for full VR immersion (so, no arrows to rely on then)....was not such a great plan after all 
Stage 1 - hit a wall, cue 5 point turn to get back on track. Finished in last place
Stage 2 - hit another wall. Bounced off in vaguely the right direction but, some damage to vehicle. Still in last place although I think I clawed a few seconds....not that it mattered
Then I succesfully managed to NOT repair my vehicle because either PC button assignments are stupid or I am (I really need to solve this!)
Stage 3 - hit yet another wall, only this time bounced all the way over it into retirement
Driving in VR definitely makes me too cautious and I am clearly very rusty! I tried to save a replay but, because Dirt Rally is an oculus exclusive and has to run through revive to work with the HTC Vive, the replay perspective is very strange and makes it look like I spent the entire rally staring at the roof of the car (I didn't, I promise!!)
Oh well, see you guys next week
