Most irritating game?
Discussion
I had looked at that on the Xbox store, decided to give it a miss when I saw that the sprites of the previous games had been ditched. The original MvC was really good, back in the day.
Fighting games are dreadful for this sort of artificial difficulty though. In a game where you're pitted directly against the CPU, it can seem dreadfully unfair that your opponent gets to process all your moves at the point of input before they are translated into the game. The most frustrating incidences of this were Street Fighter 2 and the old Mortal Kombat games.
M. Bison was a complete tt with that corkscrew move he could tear across the screen with. Mortal Kombat 2 was even worse, being a direct port of the desperately unfair arcade game. If you could beat Kintaro, which was doable, Shao Kahn would pummel you with unbreakable combos that would crush you. Having watched the beat 'em up masters at work, they all use the same tactics to overcome their opponents; utter mastery of the combo systems to string moves together in such a fashion as their opponents can't recover.
Abyss in the first MVC game was a tt too.

Manic miner. People complaining new games are tough don't know what tough really is.
In the same vein, Jet Set Willy or indeed quite a lot of the mid 80s Spectrum games. Badly coded, barely tested and in some places downright impossible - Sir Fred and Brian Bloodaxe, I'm looking at you Good pocket money spent on those, total garbageEdited by Moog72 on Saturday 18th March 20:24

Super Ghouls & Ghosts on snes, probably the hardest game I've ever played.
I didn't think Super Ghouls and Ghosts was that bad, considering the series' reputation. Ghouls and Ghosts on the Megadrive was considerably harder! Maldita Castille EX is a new game made in the mould of those GnG games, it's also petty tough. Volgarr the Viking is another, but it's so tough it makes GnG look like Cool Spot in comparison. My Summer Car
The game author trolls you at every opportunity in an attempt to kill your character or make you rage quit.
I love it!!!
How is this going? It seems like the "dark souls" of car maintenance...Is it possible to actually build the car and finish it?The game author trolls you at every opportunity in an attempt to kill your character or make you rage quit.

Remember absolutely smashing the computer cars at Mario Kart 64 only for Toad or some to suddenly catch up and just beat you over the line.
Tactic for that is to hold 1 mushroom for the entire race if you are out front then use it across the line. if you drop to 3rd or worse dump your mushroom as you will get better stuff.Robster said:
Just playing Marvel vs Capcom 3 , as soon as you progress to any degree, the opponents suddenly become 200% harder and almost impossible to defeat! It's so irritating!
I've beaten the game like a dozen times on hard mode. The AI DOES get cheap at times, like mashing a hyper between your links but it's still manageable. What team are you playing? Also, for me, i remember Super Mario's 8-4 was a pain in the butt for me as well as that stage in T2: the game where you have to reach some place after rescuing sarah from the hospital. I only made it once
The first Metal Gear Solid on PS1?
I never got the hang of sneaking around & only ever did the "who's footprints are these / what was that noise" think with the thick guards
The noise when you got spotted was really irritating too
Never played any of the other Metal Gear Solid games due to how rubbish the first one was
