Remember absolutely smashing the computer cars at Mario Kart 64 only for Toad or some to suddenly catch up and just beat you over the line.
Ah, I feel your pain. I found you need to run a close 2nd or 3rd until about half a lap from the finish then off load all weapons/boosts etc that you've saved up and creep over the line.

Most for me is The Crew mainly because they gave the driving coding to the same moron who did the original watchdogs. It was therefore terrible and I'd regularly have to turn it off to calm down after yet another dodgy bit of "physics interpretation" from the game engine. Shame because alot of it is quite good.

For me it also happens to be one of my all time favourite games - Mirrors Edge (the original, although same could be applied to the follow up from last year). I loved the challenge of a first-person parkour game and the fact you had to be precise and thus, to use common gamer parlance, had to git gud kwik. When you were on a hot streak it was a thrilling game to play; however that only happened maybe 30% of the time. The other 70 was spent falling from ledges, missing grab points or losing your way and you had to stop and look around for a course which totally killed your flow.

Still love(d) it though.

Death by 1000 cuts on Sleeping Dogs.

Honestly I don't get angry often but I very nearly smashed my TV, console and controller.
That wasn't so bad. If you couldn't do it when it first appeared on the map, you could always go back later when you were levelled up.

Mentioning Mario Kart there brought back memories of Speed Freaks on the PS1. It was a good little kart racer, not quite Crash Bandicoot Racing good but easily the equal of something like Mario Kart for fun. However, there was a locked character who was a robotic racer. You had to beat him to unlock him. I never did but my brother managed it, somehow.

Essentially, the robot ran the exact same course every time, on course dictated by the CPU. There were no weapons and he was ridiculously fast. The only way to win was to pull off three perfect laps where your inputs and use of boost is flawless. I came close a couple of times but gave up in frustration.

Just playing Marvel vs Capcom 3 , as soon as you progress to any degree, the opponents suddenly become 200% harder and almost impossible to defeat! It's so irritating!
I've beaten the game like a dozen times on hard mode. The AI DOES get cheap at times, like mashing a hyper between your links but it's still manageable. What team are you playing?

Any tips I'm rubbish at it !?

Have to agree with this - the times when you are running away from the baddies in a mad panic just running and jumping, praying to God there's something to land on after you jump are some of my best gaming experiences ever. The other 70% of the game is frustrating jumping puzzles, or trying to punch people with guns.
I do have a general hatred of jumping puzzles, I've been known to uninstall games as soon as I failed a jumping puzzle once (half life, MDK2), the whole reason I bought Mirros Edge was to get over my hatred of jumping puzzles!

There was so much hype about PC, shame it turned out to be so terrible.
Asetto Corsa, on the other hand, is hands down amazing. You should try it!

OMG Rick Dangerous was infuriating - Lots of hidden traps that you wouldn't even know about until they killed you. I have replayed an emulated version with infinite lives and even then its a solid game. I think I have been mentally scarred from the Waaaaaaa every time he dies!

My nomination is Another World. Never got anywhere playing this on the Amiga. Bought it a while back on the Xbox one. Still impossibly hard.

One of the recent Tomb Raider games on Xbox One. The one that starts of very snowy. Anyway I couldn't get past the first level and I'm good at games. I had to perfectly time swinging from a rope onto a ice cliff and I could not do it. Returned the game before the controller met the screen.
