You guys know you can turn all the radios off right? Its in the options menu.
You're better off doing it manually using the controls. I listen out for new updates and switch it off when some awful music or an old bit of dialogue starts.
I'm still fairly cracking on with this, having done 40 hrs now. It's fking massive. I'm going for all weapons and pickups, as well as taking down every gang boss. I'll soon have all of my rebel skills upgraded so I'll stop doing the skill upgrade missions.

I really enjoy a couple of hours on this in the evening
Only thing that grates me is that fecking drunken sicario song they all seem to sing when you are sneaking up on them.... double tap them in the balls if they are singing it!

I'm currently going after the Unidad General. The Unidad presence in the game seems to be a balancing thing, they stop you running rampage because unlike the cartel, they won't stop coming no matter how many you kill. This makes operating in Unidad provinces a bit of a pain, as the missions tend to descend into st pile gunfights if you get spotted (and you will). It doesn't wreck the game but the balance is much better against the cartel.

Got the last mission to do in that area next, I find the bigger Unidad bases much easier to deal with because one side of the base won't even notice/hear take out the other half, similarly most of the time I can be in and out without having to do much killing. The thing that make the st hit the fan is if a passing rebel car decides to stop and join in, 1 shotting choppers and trucks with the HT1 does come in handy when they turn up in number!I'm currently going after the Unidad General. I've captured the Unidad general but the Unidad forces remain. Although being back in cartel territory now, the game has returned to the great balance I'm used to, for the most part.
I toppled El Cardenal before, making the influence operation the first I had properly dismantled. The game does become a lot better once you've maxed out the rebel skills and upgraded the AI team's effectiveness from the skills menu. Having some decent guns, choice upgrades and good rebel support makes the game play a lot better.

Its a weird title.
Firstly I'll state I love the game, I cannot put it down when I have spare time. But, it is seriously flawed.
The scenery and weather atmosphere are brilliant, when you can feel a huge thunder storm approaching the way it gets dark is a great touch. it looks and feels humid. The scale of the map is boggling too, I was off work last week and was up most nights farting around and doing as man missions in a zone before staring the next.
The downsides though are many, but yet the game brings me back. In 2017 it is unacceptable to have to press A to climb up any ledge. It is even more unacceptable when at times you have to press it to climb a 2cm step, other times you cannot climb something the same height as you but at others you can magically jump 20ft in the air to climb.
Then there are the vehicle controls. Comical at best. They don't really detract from the game but a bit more realism would not go amiss. Also the engine sounds = unacceptable. The bugs are many and I have been exploiting the sync shot through walls to get missions done stealthily. Like Mafia 3, beautiful game but lacking in variety, every mission is predictable and easy to overcome. The dialogue, some proper laugh out loud moments but in 2017, GTAV is a benchmark for variety and for dialogue yet that is 4 years old nearly. In GTA5, every mission was varied, had a lead up and you had various setups. Here, every mission is basically the same.
And yet, I cannot put it down.

Finished this tonight. Well, 92% of it.
I hit a seemingly undocumented glitch near the end, and the story missions in Barvechos never spawned. I had the Bowman briefing video, all collectibles in the area, nothing. So I finished the game with El Pulpo, El Boquita and Nidia Flores still active as I couldn't even start the story missions to take down El Pulpo. I started a second character and went to Barvechos righr away and got the first El Pulpo mission straight away. Pissed off doesn't cover it as I had all the other collectibles, killed every other boss and finished every other mission over about 74 hrs.
Anyway, trying not to let that bad memory spoil what was otherwise a surprisingly fun game.

It may be patched
Ubisoft have some weird bugs but generally fix most of them.
I had a weird glitch last night, I couldn't launch my drone or use my binoculars, rather than restart I tried to push through, good lord did it make things interesting! I actually think the accuracy of the enemy forces on the toughest setting is probably a bit too accurate, even at range they never seem to miss!
Picked this up on the weekend, absolutely loving it.
There doesn't seem to be a huge amount to the story (so far) but I don't really care, its so vast, so stunning, great fun
I haven't done any CoOp yet, tried last night but it glitched out looking for a player, will try again tonight, I don't have a working headset at the moment, is it doable without? Do people normally talk?

I've finished the smuggling arm on a different save file now, so overall I now have 99% progress towards the 'the full story' achievement. It may be patched

I'm still missing theast Ricky Sandoval mission, which becomes available after you've took down all of the cartel bosses except Sueno. I'm going to wait for my brother to unlock that and join a co-op session to complete that one.

I play with my friends, we use the mic and earpiece that comes with the ps4 when you buy it. Co-op works fine for us.I dont currently have a headset as I broke mine, am I likely to have any success in CoOp without or should I just wait until my new ones arrives next week?

Well, the only thing I can say is my mates don't listen to me and we do ok haha. I've played a few random co-op missions (without mic) and its hit and miss on how much co-operation there is. Sometimes they're on the ball, other times its a free for all.
Will give it a go
