I really like in capcom vs marvel when deadpool uses his special move , he uses pieces of the screen, e.g. Health bar to batter the opponent , therefore breaking the fourth wall ! Very clever

When you first leave the prison in Oblivion and first get to see the world, was staggering at the time.

One of the best for me is the Giraffe bit in The Last Of Us.

Or one of the many awesome moments in any of the Metal Gear Solid games. The cigar and laser beam bit in MGS1 especially.

First time I played Halo and you walk over that first bridge with the banshees flying around the graphics seemed insane at the time

The bank heist in GTA 4. I wasn't a huge fan of the game generally but that was brilliant.

The first time my mates got together in Battlefield 3 a few days after launch, Caspian Border Map heading across the fields and through the town in the jeep getting strafed by Helicopter, running down hapless infantry and then holding the objective against all odds long enough for the big guns to get down to our position and secure it long term biggrin

Exhilarating!

Can't remember much about it as it was so long ago but in one of the Half Life games (2?) there's a bit toward the end where your robot pal (Dog?) who you haven't seen for a long while suddenly leaps onto the screen and saves your ass. Loved that.

Agree with the heist in GTA4, and Halo. However, the one for me is GTA Vice City, when you're shooting up the mansion from the helicopter, with 'Automatic' playing in the background. Epic.

There are loads from GTA tbh. When you're doing the Humane Labs heist on GTA:O there's a set up to steal a Hydra jet from an aircraft carrier, once you've escaped Danger Zone starts playing. Always makes me laugh.

After having my son badger me to complete Borderlands 1 I was finally hooked by the end.

Then I fired up Borderlands 2 and... well... Opening credits!!!!!!

My favourite Half Life moment comes a little later. It's easy to forget now, but there used to be a formulaic start to first-person shooters: You had a pistol, a rifle of sorts and a melee weapon, and later in most games you found a grenade launcher or a bazooka or something.

In Half Life, you started with nothing, then alien crab like things started to try to bite you... then you found a crowbar to stop the bity crabs killing you off... and then you built up your arsenal along with your narrative of heroism. It was groundbreaking at the time.

Oh, and the unofficial "Everyone hunt Robbie Coltrane" in N64 Goldeneye multiplayer. smile

Or for added difficulty, "Everyone hunt Oddjob". Just remember to aim down a bit more.

Theres loads of Half Life/Expansions and Half Life2 moments. One that sticks out of me on HL2 when you have to get through the Ravenholme village, very cool and actually the only game I played where I was a little scared!

Just the opening scenes in the original Half Life - storytelling way ahead of its time in FPS and computer games in general. Really made you feel like the world was real and you were a part of it.

When I first nailed the finisher with Sub Zero in mortal kombat. Ripping your opponents head off and tearing out his spine with an upper cut was quite something back in the day.
