Very very late to the party but decided I'm going to pick up a copy this weekend.
Thinking back I cant remember why I decided against getting the game at launch as I was never off GT sport and I've had every GT game from release prior to this.

Peaked at A - S DR on GT sport so I hope I can still be as competitive on GT7.

Interesting reading the comments about using the PS5 controller as a wheel using the motion sensors, might give that a try as I've absolutely no intention of buying a wheel. I've gotten used to using the sticks and have to admit I've always been an auto transmission driver too.
Took me a little while to get the hang of tilting the wheel, but it does work really well for me. I use the thumb stick for gear changes.

GT7 now has enough content to make it well worth buying. As others have said, start with the licenses and menus, otherwise you'll be grinding to make enough money to buy decent cars.
The circuit experience pays very well too, shouldn't have much of an issue getting gold as an A/S driver. thumbup

Credit to Polyphony, they've listened to feedback and continually improved GT7. The latest iteration is much better than the initial 2022 release.

When the game was launched with limited content, and in-game credits being sold for real money, I thought it was the beginning of the end with GT planning to charge for DLC. But we've got continuous fixes and additional content for free. Giving us the game we wanted.

I started the game fresh a few weeks ago, stuck the difficulty to hardest from the get go and limited my car tuning to make all the events a good challenge. Manage about 2 hours a week on it where I can, 3 or 4 on a good week. Still login to my old account once a week to complete the dailies in the hopes of having enough money to buy the stupidly priced F1 GTR.

The pro to this is I had to dig deep and nail every lap, and because of this I enjoyed 99% of the races - I just cannot stand Catalunya race track, the most tedious of all - especially when its asking you to stick 5 laps in... And don't get my started on the RallyX race there. Pointless.

The con, the AI is utterly hopeless. You can be on the apex of a turn with the AI on the outside and they'll just blindly turn into you full beans and wipe out your clean race bonus. They also love to send it into corners, then anchor on the brakes right on the apex, again causing you to jolt into the back of them and lose your clean race bonus.
The sooner Polyphony get the Sophy AI incorporated into the main game there better. Cant wait for an endurance race with it active!

Updates are getting a bit repetitive these days. 3 new cars - some of them absolute garbage, who the hell wanted a "new" TT when they're an absolute pig of a car in the first place?
No real new tracks to speak of, Lake Louise the last? few races on there that probably amounted to about 1 hour of playtime at most?
Vision cars, again, why? Was a cool thing back during GT5 but its done to death, I've personally no interest and the only ones I have I've won from a "Roulette" ticket.

There's tons of track only supercars released over the last 10 years, stick some of them in! Add a new race group specifically for them!

Race exhaust upgrade too... it would be nice if this didn't change the aesthetic of the car to stick a massive fart pipe on them and leave a GAPING hole where an exhaust used to be, maybe its just me?

I’m glad to see the Toyota GT1 at last but for me, Gran Turismo’s failing has been a lack of decent events for single players. Yes you can create custom events but the prize credits on offer are meagre compared to the cost of some of the cars. The GT1 will be great if there are events in which to use it otherwise it’ll be a waste of time.

I think it was GT4 that has a selection of events for most manufacturers. If they brought that back it would be a good place to create events for cars that otherwise wouldn’t get used.

It would be great if they took this update with the Toyota as a time to introduce a load of endurance type races, 1 hr, 4 hour, maybe even finally some 24 hour races with some appropriate payouts!

Some 24 hour races paying out 20 million would be pretty cool, especially with a clean race bonus!! The game has so much potential with the day / night cycle and variable weather etc., the reasonable selection of Group C cars etc., but nope, we will probably get a Urus only rally cross event, an Audi only 5 lap race paying out nothing, and the GT-One will be 20,000,000 in the legends dealership for a few weeks meaning you have to grind the same 1 or 2 races constantly to try and accumulate 20 million before it disappears for 3 months. What a game.

Wonders will never cease.

Got a 6 star roulette ticket today for completing the daily mileage. Then when I claimed the prize I was awarded an Aston Martin Valkyrie. To say I was surprised that it was not the smallest cash prize is an understatement

Not in my experience personally. Maybe I just remember it incorrectly but I would say I get smallest cash 4/5 times which makes it definitely not a roulette

4 out of 5 was spot on until recently. Now it’s just as likely to be 2nd smallest cash. biggrin
Actually I havn’t worked it what the pattern is, but it’s definitely changed.

There are numerous vids on YouTube where people record their pulls.

Personally I've had many millions in credits and cars.

Looking forward to the Toyota GT One.

Kind of come to peace with the game now.

I spend my days grinding Le Mans, but with different cars everytime and in all fairness the is unpredictable, yes you'll get rain but how much is the question. So out strategy is key.

I'm enjoying it a lot more these days now I'm not grinning purely just for credits.

I’ve never won a single gold bar, not once. The majority of the time the 30 grand prize, or fully adjustable aus for a piece of st car I have 0 interest in driving biggrin

Consider yourself lucky!

I've literally just had 5 gold bars on a 3-star ticket. Go figure.

Update is out, straight into the Toyota GT-One.

The events though, jesus. WTC 900, Le Mans, 10 laps, 400k payout (600k with CR bonus), how on earth have they come to this number when there's already a lesser event with a higher payout. It's almost at this point like they're doing it to pish everyone off.

The credit 'calculations' are baffling.

How much was the GT One? I only have a couple of million I think so there'll be some grinding incoming I suspect.
