I was expecting an invite, but instead went for a demolition derby in a Shelby.

I invited everyone on the list who I’ve added, so you should have got an invite. Apologies if I missed you off the list.

We had a bit of a mess about and came up with some ideas as to how to run a hot hatch championship, so I’ll be setting up a new thread to clean this one up.

We then ended up ttting about in minis being chased down by an AMR Pro Valkyrie which was a good bit of fun.

I've seen my son do it, but he was on WhatsApp to the guy as well, so it was easy.

What should I be looking out for? And where?

My son's invite came through the Xbox app, not Forza, IIRC.

It should have popped up on your home screen, assuming you’re online, saying I’ve invited you.

Does this mean that I should pop onto the Forza home screen every so often, or do I need to be there when you send the invitation?

I thought I found a YT tutorial, but it is for Horizon.

On PC, when I was playing online with the PHers, I was getting invites and it was popping up an Xbox Live notification in the middle of the screen. It was prompting me to either press the Xbox button on my controller, or the Windows key + L to open the invite, which I could then accept and join the lobby; this was applicable when both in the game menus, or when driving in-game. If you struggle perhaps ask your lad to give you a brief tutorial - I was wondering how truncated/difficult it was going to be but touch wood it's relatively painless.

I didn't see any of that. I'm hoping that Rene left me off the list, as that would explain everything.

Right ok, it could be if you share a machine with your son that settings have been altered somewhere to prevent pop-ups from appearing when in-game.

Both Kitch and I tried inviting you while we were in the lobby. I’ve got your GT as: Ollie ya mum

It said you were hot lapping in rivals if I remember correctly.

Might be worth making sure you haven’t got notifications muted.

Now you mention muting notifications - that will be the answer. A few weeks ago, my son's friends thought he was on line and were constantly pinging him, so I turned off the message box.

I’m on Xbox. The invites are only there for a few minutes, then time out. So you wouldn’t see them anymore if you’re looking now for example.

Not sure how many of you guys build and tune your own cars but I thought I'd list below the the base settings I start from for a race transmission.....

FINAL DRIVE.... 4.36
1st..... 3.08
2nd....2.03
3rd.... 1.60
4th.... 1.31
5th.... 1.07
6th.... 0.90

Been using these since FM4 and always found them to be a good starting set-up to work from. Most cars simply need adjust of the final drive and maybe making 1st gear shorter to aid launch.

Is there a hot lap leaderboard for March? I'm happy with the hot hatch regs from the online race (460pi hot hatch, not a Civic) if a track can be selected as the online race is random tracks.

I'm having a good play with an XR2.

The 243PI car was 3.34 around Spa. So far I've managed to get that down to 3.19 (293PI). I'm hoping to add everything to the car to see how fast I can make it.

I'm interested to see what the max PI will be. I then plan to find a FWD hot hatch with the same PI and see how that fares in comparison.
