Forza Motorsport - Hot Hatch Championship 2024
Discussion
Welcome news on some of the update coming to Forza this week -
Firstly, we will remove the locked part mechanic so all car parts can be accessed at Car Level 1 for every car in the game. Once a car is added to your car collection, you can install upgrades to it in any order that you wish. Whether it's engine swaps, race tires, aspiration changes, body kits or any other part available for your vehicle, you will have the freedom to build cars your way.
Secondly, in addition to earning Car Points through levelling up the car, you will be able to use in-game Credits to acquire Car Points. This means you can begin to immediately install upgrades to your car if you have sufficient Credits or if you would rather save your Credits, you can still earn car parts through car leveling as before.
We’re testing a ratio of 4,500 Credits for 500 Car Points - that means if you’re upgrading the 2021 Volkswagen Golf R with all available parts at Level 1, for example, it will cost 89,775 Credits.
The time needed on-track to reach Car Level 50 will remain between 2 and 3 hours.

Been looking forward to this for a while as it's been a right pain as a tuner.Firstly, we will remove the locked part mechanic so all car parts can be accessed at Car Level 1 for every car in the game. thanks for last night Rene, was good fun. Definitely a few boy amongst men moments for me in terms of my abilities though as I think my car is fairly competitive (highlight being backwards through the corkscrew). Apologies for my son trying to take you out at the end of Le Mans, that'll be his first and last foray in to the pistonheads online racing foyer .

That update will definitely help! What cars are most of you guys using? Or is that a secret people are keeping to themselves?
I’ve got an AE86 built that’s good fun and what I’ll most likely be using, though started a ‘Legendary Hot Hatches’ series tonight on career mode for which I bought a Fiesta XR2 - ashamed to say it was good fun with all the lift off oversteer! Going to build that up also to see if it retains the same handling balance or turns in to an understeering sack of st Aside from that there was a good variety that people seemed to use - VWs, Renault 5 Turbo 2, Clios, take your pick!

I’m struggling to make a competitive car! I’ve never been one to tune and build cars, I’m a spec car merchant. I won 12 races in a row in the recent M3 spec races and quite a few in the Formula Mazdas, but can’t get below 1 min times on lime rock in anything I make
460PI is a devil of a number, I've had reasonable success going for a more handling tune than outright power with the RS turbo, do you want me to share my tune so you can get a base line?Try using the Forza tune app. It gives a good baseline but seems to set the suspension way too soft for this iteration of the game.
Not sure what my gamer tag is btw, I’ll have to check. Hopefully I will be In the alps this weekend and unable to join, but if that falls through I’ll be sulking on the sofa and would welcome the distraction

Appreciate it’s a while ago, but if you remember the PH series from FM3-FM6, anything can happen on the first corner, especially if damage/penalties are being run to their most invasive settings. Sticking a lap time on the board is meaningless if A) you can only do it once, and B) you don’t make it past the first corner Also I now get why the Mk1 MX5/Eunos Roadster is a meme, it’s so good! I downloaded a tune, did 5 laps of Lime Rock and got 40th out of >10,000 on the C500 leaderboard, it’s a joke

I completely forgot that app existed! Thank you for the reminder, I’ll give it a go Chunkychucky said:

Oh I remember those series well, absolutely fantastic times and very true, luckily I’m consistent these days! Hopefully there isn’t too many 1st corner wreckfests but you never know Also I now get why the Mk1 MX5/Eunos Roadster is a meme, it’s so good! I’ll try and get close to your time in that MX5 when I get a chance Andy has a great MX5 tune too!
